You're right that Mixed Onsens are hard to find in Japan. Hence, I am asking around. I am seriously not into it to beo other women. So it really does not matter if the Onsen is full of old grannies, pretty XMM, gays or old uncles. My partner and me just want to relax together in a hot spring. We do not want to be separated. Personally, I find the feeling of she and me naked in public erotic. Not looking for sex inside it too like a bro suggested. Well, if it happens, fine. If it doesn't, it is also great.

Rather, what is important is the hot spring should not be too big and crowded. I prefer one that accomodates <10 pax. I dont want one too public - she will not be comfortable with too many people ogling at her.

When it comes to onsen, people always thought of Japan and Taiwan. What about China? There are so many openly mixed gender hotsprings in China! I have been to more than 3 hotsprings and 1 man-made (indoor) hotspring.

People have may have the impression that Mainlander Chinese are conservative or China has lousy hotsprings but that is untrue.

You will be surprised that most women's attire in hot-springs is either swimsuit or bikini! In Thailand & Malaysia, imagine women & men wearing t-shirts & shorts in hotsprings. Adooi...!

During winter and school holiday in China, hotsprings are crowded. In off peak season, not so much people.

There are many ladies (including young & old) comes in two or group. They may be together with someone. To strike conversation with people (including ladies) in the pool is fairly easy! There are a few tricks and tips but I will cast these aside before I continue writing (if you like).
