Bro, just try not to don’t think about it.. nothing is important unless you make it important to you. You can bury yourself in work, focus on your hobbies/passion, adopt a healthy lifestyle and go gym, jogging, swimming etc. During this period I think the worst you can do to yourself is to be a slut and just go for any rebound relationship, if your feelings are true towards that gal, it doesn’t help you emotionally and you’ll probably just end up hurting the gal you rebound with.

It was roughly 6 years from the day we broke where I met her by chance on this fateful day. We walked past each other in town, she was in office wear and seems like she was otw to somewhere and I was with a male friend. I turned back to look at her and she still looked the same... sweet, pretty, with her chestnut long hair flowing to her back untied. She stopped to look back at me. We gave each other a familiar smile as if to reminisce on what could have been and moved on with our lives.

That day was 26 October 2012. The day before I continued my story.

Right after Danine and I “chilled’”, for me it was mostly just work and hanging out with friends. Whenever I missed Danine, I just made myself so busy till the thought passes... I didn’t want to rush into another relationship and whatever emptiness I felt, I just refocused it onto something else.

Xmas came, and some of my friends (Gary and Serene, Ryan and Charlotte) planned for a get together and we had planned for a Secret Santa gifts exchange at Gary’s place. They were all attached to each other and to them I was like the odd one that seemingly had no Gf for ages since my last one months back (they didn’t know about Danine).

Try to digest this cause it’s kinda complicated: I got to know Gary, Ryan and Serene from my workplace. Charlotte is Ryan’s Gf (From another industry, non sales related). Gary was in the same team as Danine and Sharon, I’m from another team. Ryan was also from another team, but in the same team with Serene (Gary’s Gf) and they had a new colleague that just joined them... an ex SQ girl, her name is Ann.. Which I will go into later (pun not intended).

Basically there are over 30 teams in my workplace... It’s a big organisation, but we all got to know each other because of sales recognition and social events, we often travelled for customer appointments and if we were around the same area, there’s a high degree of certainty that we’ll go for coffee and chat. Through time, the 5 of us just clicked and became the best of friends, hanging out all the time.

Ryan: Hey Serene, how about inviting our new colleague over for Xmas, her name is Ann right?

Serene (with a cheeky smile): My new BFF ah lol, you sure you forgot her name?Ok sure... if Charlotte doesn’t mind!

Charlotte (playfully pinching on Ryan’s lap): Don’t worry, Ryan will have no chance when I am here... Right dear?

Ryan: Ouch ouch, thinking for my bro Damian la!

Me: Worry for yourself bro... see la make Charlotte Mei Mei upset! Guys, it’s been some time since we last chilled at Gary’s, let’s just have it amongst us and drink ourselves silly.. it’ll be fun!

Serene: What if Ann wanna come har? You anti social ah Damian?

Me: Cmon babe.. It’s gonna be awkward if you guys try to push us together lol

Gary: Don’t force our bro la haha.. He is the legend hor, my female colleagues always ask about him..

Ryan: True that bro, respect that aura when he comes in for appointments, saying “hi guys” to the girls in the team that pop by to peek at him and they actually love it wth..

Serene (Cheeky smile again): One of them was Ann? Damian...
