JB moneychanger loses RM 500,000 in hold up JOHOR BAHRU : A moneychanger,50, lost RM 500,000 in a robbery in Jalan Trus on Thursday. In his police report, the man said he was taking the cash for distribution to his 3 branches in Jalan Trus, Jalan Ibrahim and Jalan Wong Ah Fook at 4.30 a.m. He did not have a security escort, but his assistant, 43, was driving in another car behind him. A lorry cut him off, and a Honda CRV and a Proton Waja blocked him from behind. 3 men armed with axes and swords grabbed the cash and took off. The moneychanger substained a cut on the arm in the scuffle. State Criminal Investigations Chief Senior Assistant Commissioner II Amer Awal said the robbers left the lorry and escaped in the Honda CRV, which was found abandoned in Ulu Tiram. Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery
I'm very sad, as a Malaysian to say that our country security has rose again to a new level of robbery. My friend, happened just recently at Taman Pelangi JB, while he was having his lunch at one of the kopitiam with his wife along Jalan Kuning, a stranger wearing a cap and dark glasses just sat next to them although there are other vacant seats.
He then took order for a cup of kopi-0 to the waiter, then my friend asked if he'd known him. The stranger just replied that NOT ONLY he knows my friend, he also knows my friend lives, his children, where there study, go for tuition, activities, etc. While he is stating these facts, he pointed a gun towards my friend underneath the table. Next the stranger gave my friend 2 options: 1- To hand over the car keys of my friend's new Toyota Camry 2- To reject 1st option and the stranger will open fire, plus, there will be no guarantee to the safety of my friend's family in the evening later. Goes without saying, the car keys was handed to the stranger, and after the stanger finished his cup of coffee, he left with my friend's car. A police report was lodged but bloody police said they will investigate this matter and asked them to go home. The moral of this incident: 1. Do not buy the new Toyota Camry in Johor Bahru. If you insist, hire a police-motorcyclist escort at all times. If you can't afford one, go to option 2. 2. Fix canister cans filled with cyanide (available from hospitals) into your car. Once the immobiliser activates, the car shuts down everything and releases this gas substance into the car-cabin, effectively causing permanent brain and vision damage the robber. If you can't afford one, go to option 3. 3. Equip yourself with a pepper spray at all times (Use it ONLY if you are confident that the liquid dispersed is faster than the speed of a bullet). |

Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery
I guess most of the robbers are roaming around banks.Or else they have some insiders working in the bank.

Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery
Now the robbers will climb into your house and steal things... and in petrol stations if u are a singaporean, the chances of u being robbed is almost 10% already. I havent heard of any regular who patronised JB and never encounter crimes.

Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery
JB cost of living is much cheaper..Petrol is 0.83 SGD per lites, Milk powder 50 per cent cheaper , ciggrattes 3 times cheaper and many other more last but not least bonking is about 2 times cheaper. Is the same reasons why Malaysian likes to get into Southern Thailand since there is an insurgency there.
