Just a short report on my trip from Sihanok to the border town of Ha Tien.

Because I need to exit cambodia after staying for 30 days, and since i was in sihanoukville, so i decided to exit to Ha Tien which is part of vietnam and at the border between Cambodia and Vietnam. It was my first trip to Ha Tien. This journey will take about 5 to 6 hrs.

From Sihanoukville, i went to the central bus station and book a bus at usd15 to Ha Tien. The bus came on time at 12.30pm and after picking me up, the bus proceed to another place to pick up passengers before proceeding the journey. Inside the bus, all angmos except me, the only asian.

Along the way, the bus did stop for peeing. The first stop was in kampot, about 2.5hrs from sihanok. Kampot is quite a nice cosy town by the river. Mostly angmos here. Theres many guest house here. Theres pubs here too. However i dont know anything about nightlife here as ive not stayed here but i believe there should be ladies canvassing at those pubs.

After dropping those angmos passengers here in kampot, we all alight from this bus and waited for about 25mins for another van to pick us up. We pass the town of kep. The journey from kampot to kap is about 40mins.

Kep is a nice very simple seaside town thats very famous for their flower crabs. Just a few days before this trip. I did rode my rental motorcycle all the way from Sihanoukville to kep. I stayed one night in kep. It took me 3.5 hrs to ride from Sihanokville to kep using the google map to guide me. It was my maiden trip then. In kep, theres a very famous crab market by the seaside. I bought half kilo of medium size flower crab at usd3.50 and ask the people to cook for me chilli pepper crab and the cooking charge is only usd1, vv cheap. The rice cost me 1000 riels per packet. It was delicious. Prawns are cheap here too at only usd7 per kilo. I stayed in a nearby guesthse at only usd20 a night.

Kep is just a very simple town and theres no night life here, completely zero. For some night life, must go kampot.

From kep to the border is about 40 mins. At the border, there are casinos and the biggest is Ha Tien Vegas. At the border, the driver will collect our passports and he will chop it at the immigration counter. All of us need to alight and walk pass the cambodia immigration. And then ftom here we will continue to walk to the vietnam immigration. Over here at the counter, the immigration officer will handover to us our passport. After this we got on board another different van who will then drive us to a popular town by the river with many seafood stalls around. This is where people take ferry 3.5hrs to the island casino resort of PHU QUOC. In Ha tien, by this river, i stayed in a very nice clean aircon guesthse at only usd12 a night.

I went Ha Tien in yr 2010 and 2015...near the river where there is ferry going to many places...on the mainland besides the jetty...plenty of cheap hotels and guesthouses...I stayed one big hotels for about 400k per day...

I did not bother to visit Cambodia as I am not into gambling...also will no longer going to any cities in Kien Giang...the Mui Nai beach at Ha Tien was polluted and Phu Quoc was way too ex after all the new resorts built and international flight flew directly...

many of the syts in Kien Giang had gone to hcm for work...only those milf from other provinces are working in Kien Giang...

Hi Hurricane88, Thanks for the info. Today is my 2nd day in Ha Tien. Last night I ask a motorised trishaw rider to bring me around sightseeing, he quoted me only usd3. I then asked him to bring me boom boom, he then showed me some photographs of some vietnamese ladies and quoted me usd60 for short time, of course i didnt take it. I dont see any pubs around in Ha Tien but there are some massage parlours, very few. Tonight i will ask these riders again about boom boom.

I thing maybe last time you stayed in RIVER HOTEL, its a nice big hotel exactly at the river which cost about usd40 per night.

Nope I stayed a local Viet name hotel for 400k < usd 20 per day...

as for fj...nope nothing although there are chicken farm houses whereby a few milfs waiting for clients which I wasn't interested...

I took a bus direct 9 hrs from Ha Tien to hcm...

It all depends on individual. Im more of the adventurous type and i enjoy riding a motorcycle to look around places especially around redlights areas. However in Ha Tien, theres no redlight areas but its still fun for me because its a new place for me and the guesthouse is very clean, with aircon and cheap at only usd12 per night.

In Ha Tien its very difficult to see money changer around but today i manage to change money from usd to viet dong at a small local bank.

Its from here by this river that one can take a 3.5hrs ferry ride at about 200,000 dong to the island of Phu Quoc and theres a big casino resort here which i read just opened in 2017.

This photo at night and day is very different, at night the vendors will set up their seafood stalls at this pavements by the river.


At night, this whole stretch of pavements is transformed into all these seafood stalls, so its quite tough for these vendors as they need to keep and clear their stall everyday.

Just for purely fucking syt, the best is go Sihanokville blue mountain. But no service, its just fuck, pay usd20 (a yr ago st here was usd15 for st) for st and go home. Most of the kymer and vietnamese girls here are syt and quite pretty. Its a very short lane with about 50 to 100 wls sitting at their stools waiting for customers. No more china girls operating here.

Sihanouk square with all those pubs here was already demolished and a very few of them hv shifted their operation at a very ulu place called the Youth Centre and the business here is very poor. Nightlife activities in sihanok is now very poor but its still quite easy to find cheap local wls for fj both for st and on.

As usual, i have all my free meals at the casinos. The best free food served is on the 2nd floor of Xihu hotel, the casino operator here is called XI GANG, over here they serve very nice sichuan cuisine, most of the time hv prawns, steam fish, vegetables etc....all a person need to do is gamble at their casinos, they have baccarat, niu niu and machine roulette. The best is play niu niu, minimum stake usd10 as its a very drawish game.

The hotel here is quite expensive and is always fully booked, you can get it free if you exchange usd1200 into chips to gamble.

Over here, you may order yr free ala carte food such as curry rice, fish and chips, pizza, burger etc.... drinks including beer and red wine and cigarettes are served foc no limit. Every evenings theres live singing performed by a phillipino duet. Small but nice casino.

Sihanok dont hv those genting style poker. In those holdem poker where players pit against each other, anybody can stop playing at anytime too. I played once in la vogue but i lost usd300 thats because i push all in when i got triple ace but my opponent hv the same suit. I misread him.

In sihanoukville, i spent most of my time gambling. In the evenings, i will ride the motorcycle around to street 802 (known as omui street, blue mountain, vietnam street and china street), victory hill, karaoke street, chicken farms at the port , youth centre etc.
When i hv the urge, i will book those wls from these redlight areas.

Im never bored in sihanoukville because theres casinos, wls, cheap motorcycle rental, free food, free drinks and free lodgings. Sihanoukville casinos hv a game called NGAU HAM or NIU NIU, almost all china gamblers prefer playing this game. Niu niu is the best game to play because it has no house advantage when we place our bets on 1 pay 1. Without house advantage, its no guarantee that we will lose to casinos.
