Hopefully a good pre-season will give us a nice push for the start of the season. Last season we were simply abysmal - didn't we get hammered 5-0 in one game in the pre-season?

Pre-season at this stage means nothing ...
The coming matches in HK & Amsterdam will have more bearings ... as the other opponents will have more reason to really wanna win the games against LFC. Let's see how the games turn out by then.

Yup ... Martin O'Neill is always gonna be tough.
But on the contrary, I think our guys are very motivated on 2 counts:
1) they all know where the season went wrong last time around ... so they wanna make sure they start this one with a BIG bang
2) they all know the standard of competition has been upped big-time this term ... so they also wanna make a good first impression to secure a regular start

Actually, I feel damned tempted to organise a meet-up for the regulars here ... just to start the season with a BIG bang together. Any indications of support?
If yes, then I'll try to get in touch with Libraguy to secure a good place in HRC for us.

I agree pre-season friendly games mean nothing cos if you all could remember, liverpool won almost all of their friendly games in last few seasons and not forgetting they played wonderful football during last charity game against chelsea but gone nut after that. Hope it won't happen this time around
