A Valentine Gone Wrong
Valentine Day has always been my personal bogey man.... I was in Pri 5 when the first gal broke my heart when she refused my freshly plucked flowers from the football field.... poor old me... sulked for the whole day... Sec 2 and another gal of my dreamz told me the words every guy DREADED to hear... "You are a very NICE guy but I just dun have those feelings for you".... Sheesh will wonders never cease... my run of bad luck continued thru my study years up to my time as a freshie NS Army boy... my 1st gf broke up with me on Valentine Day !! "U dun spend enuff time with me.. I've been lonely for 2 weeks... now I'm with your best friend Hector !!" HELLO !!??!!? I'm stuck in the camp for this first 3 weeks of BMT lei... what u want me to do ?? U think I want stay in a bunk with 7 others similary love-struck and bad-smelling baldies than my sweet-smelling darling?? So I dodge V Day like the plague... but still Cupid struck another merciless arrow in my back last year... and the first foreign gal that I liked/loved gave me a sms on V Day morning that sucked the ground from under me... So it was with much dread that this year's V Day came about... My plan was simple...go to work... finish work ...stay home... lock my door and sleep until the next day came about... but like all good plans.. it always unravel rather dramtically !! She is happily married with 2 bouncing kids and her new mission in life was to get us poor and single fellas... to quickly know the wedded bliss of couple-dom !! "Yeah... u know lor... I have this date with Zhou Hui Min in the evening.. so technically not alone," I yawned my reply. "Aiyo.. dun watch video la... go aout and meet some gals lah !!" Ok... meet gals I not really interested.. but maybe bonking some gals I dun mind... immediately my mind scanned thru my FL/TN/HC list of ideal V Day bonks... well sadly the ones I really dun mind spending the day with were no longer around... ok Plan B... work OT !! "I got tons of work la... working OT today" came my reply "Really ?? I got this friend.. she's dateless lah... so I wondering if u..." Du..Du... Du... that was the sound of me hanging up the phone on her... Ok BAD BAD start to the day... better quickly get to work.. maybe surf a bit of SBF and really get some work done... SBF was boring... not many were around... The League was empty.. Mt Cold Turkey was empty... even Bro Bono has left the mountain... guess even the V Day bug has hit everyone.... Ok stick w my original plan... work and go home... accept no invites... "Hey... u must really fix ur hp ... we got dis-connected just now u know.." Aaarrgghh... plan C.. dun pick up my office phone too !! "Anyway I know u have this rule about not going out on V Day... but my friend is really poor thing.. broke up with bf not long ago..." yabba..yabba... my good-hearted but very lou soh friend went... What I saw was some fuzzy washed out fotos... probably taken with a web-cam... hmm... long hair... not slim..not fat... average body... can't see the face though... "so what u think??" my excited friend chirped... "Think what ?? She could be Angela..Jolin...Cyndi.. all rolled into one.. and I'm still doing OT !! anyway can't see her face..." She was probably butt-ugly anyway... "I didn't send u her face shots mei ??" Du- Du- more emails... Well since I was stuck in this conversation... mght as well see the new fotos... click click... What I saw was this really sweet looking gal... not drop-dead gorgoeus.. not model-like looks... not even cute dimples... but a very gal-next door looks... I can only say my type of gal !! Ok so my friend knew my taste in looks... but I was not sold yet.. besides It is not like I was going to bonk the gal but rather would be probably be spending a rather long evening with a stranger.. what if she sounds like daffy duck !!??
