Need info from experience bros regarding which border crossing to take if travelling from HKIA T1 (arriving @7pm) to nearby Shenzhen Bao'an Airport area to put up for a night.

Any budget hotel to recommend as have a connecting flight @9am in the morning.

Huang Gang Customs is 24hrs. (for cars,buses)
Lo Wu is from 6.30am - 12 midnight. (train and walk)

Shenzhen bay border crossing (open 0630 to midnight) is most likely the border you will be crossing from HKIA - shortest distance and most transport will go this way.

As for hotels around Bao'an - all sorts and all prices - even a space capsule one!!

U better take a budget Tigerairways to shenzhen airport from HKIA if go via shenzhen bay quite insane long journey to shenzhen baoan by then u reach is 10pm.

since u hav time, I suggest u take ferry from skypier to shekou, from shekou take a cab to the hotel of ur liking...

if u go thru Shenzhen bay by the airport limo 150hkd, from my experience reaching hkia at 7pm, clearing thru china immigration @ szx bay takes v long... peak hr 6 - 9 pm...

overall time should b the same ard 2 - 2.5 hr but if u take ferry, u can still shop ard hkia, la kopi, makan... no need clear thru immigration twice. if take airport limo, u b sitting inside the car all the time lor...

Actually CX is having many great offers connecting to many China cities......why not you consider that instead........ The offer are quite cost effective and save you lots of trouble.

If you really need to travel to SZ airport, I will suggest you this two routes.

1. Take the bus A43 (33hk4) to Sheung Shui stn, change to KCR to louhu causeway (20HK). On reaching the China side....walk straight take their Mrt ( Metro ) to Sz airport (8rmb). Total journey abt 2.5hrs.

2. Go basement of hkia terminal 2 where all the Express buses counters to China are station. Ask for an express bus to SZ airport or nearest to it. Cost around 150-200hk. From there take a cab to the hotel that's near the airport.

From HKIA, go to Sky Pier, it is before customs. Take the ferry to Fu Yong Ferry Terminal, it is just next to Shen Zhen Bao An Airport. There are lots of hotels around there. Can try Jin Jiang or Vienna, most budget.
Sky Pier last ferry is 8pm from HK to Fuyong. So do rush a bit for it. If you have check in luggage, give them your luggage tag and they will handle your check in for you.

REMEMBER, it is before customs... Once you clear HK Customs, you have only land transport to bring you to SZ airport.
