Seriously, without high pay who would like to work in the government sector?

Just past election, many of my friends (20s to late 30s) are complaining about everything, nitpicking every little thing, so I tell them, if you are really so passionate about our country, why not join politics (PAP or opposition whichever way you swing) or civil service to make SG a better place since they have so many things to say about improving our country.

None of them are willing due to one simple fact - money.

Money still makes the world spin. End of the day high pay does reduce the amount of corruption, but corruption will never be eradicated, at least I know most of our civil service and politicians are clean.
