Actually if she comes for a social visit then there will be no problem but if she's going to apply to get married and stay in Sg then it will be BIG PROBLEM.

My friend's wife thought she could get through by changing her name and passport to avoid detection, actually after 3 months things were looking good when she were still going to ICA to renew her visa. Then things took a turn when my friend went to apply the long term dependent pass for her and she was exposed.

She was charged on failing to declare her status + change of name by filling up wrong information on the declaration form. The case drag for 3 months and even my friend seek help from Marine Parade MPs, Lobang from ministry of foreign affairs also no use. She was pregnant for 7 months due to deliver in Sept also kanna jailed for 8 weeks.

So dun play play when comes to things involving immigration cos the head of ICA is Mr L** Kuan Yow...

Re: ord from geylang , can come back sg ?

hello seniors.
presently i getting my tirak(non-WL) to come over to sillypore to get wed.

but she was turned away by the police when her mamasan bring her to do documents with the police so as to allow her to work WL @ GL.
meaning she arrived night (sillypore) and return the next day without even started to work. and according to her mamasan, her mamasan told her she will need to pay her mamasan 50,000B as fine.As she dun have money to pay up, she cont'd to work for her mamasan in LOS.

i met her after that 4 years, till now i decided to wed her in sillypore.
just to find out from seniors here. is she considered 'working as WL here b4?"
will there be problems?
pls advice, seniors.

if the WL declare her new name, there shouldnt be a problem coming Singapore?

And if so, when and where she have to delcare first b4 entering Singapore.

Thanks

Bro, you must understand.

Getting married is not a problem. I mean they wont stop u.

But for the WL part, it is better to be careful. Did she sign any declaration form to agree not to come back to Singapore again?

If you want to marry her, then in long term must apply PR. Then this issue may then become a problem.

I have a fren who registered for marriage no problem. But he then bring her to ICA to extend visa for marry. Next thing they know, she end up in jail 3 months.

Actually if she comes to Sg with a new identity without applying to stay here permanently then it will have no problem. But if you're considering marrying her then you will have to seek approval from ICA, whether it gets approved depends on case to case basis.

Please do not attempt to lie to the authorities as my friend also thought like you previously but you will never know how advance our immigration system are. The best is to go through the proper channel if not you spouse will end up in Changi and you will face a bigger headache to even see her in Sg in future.

It will take a long process to apply for her to stay in Sg permanently, I heard there are tonnes of ppl like you including my friend who face the same problem but what I heard is if your wife is pregnant with a child, the chances of appealing is higher. I guess it's the child that matters, you will have to be patient about it.

Thanks for your advise bro, so are u trying to say i should seek readdress thru anti-vice,ica and my mp?i have no clue whether in being honest really helps as as i feel if she had observe the so-called *3 year banned period* her chance would be higher, now that she had already infiltrated the system by changing name and passport to come here.i wonder if the authorities would arrest her if she ever set foot here again.and i wouldnt want to risk getting her pregnant just for the sake of trying my luck to apply for her visit status.guess it is getting real hard to form a family necleus here,i really wonder how the hell am i ever going get here its been also 3 years she went back and i am dinking of registering at bkk and getting proper documentations to support my claim.

Thanks Bangkok Master. Your Information is very helpful.

In the beginning she use forge Passport to work as WL. Now in Thailand, she redo a new passport which is her original one.

Therefore, I told her to use the Original one to enter Sg. However, her forge Passport and her original passport have different names. Now I worried the ICA might caught her for this.

Any suggestion. Thanks

Re: ord from geylang , can come back sg ?

My experience:-
Best to make sure all papers in order, declare everything on form and apply for visa in advance.

If your friend has ever been fingerprinted, then forget about different passport or different name. Bound to be found out sooner or later, and Immigration Office never forgets.

My friend many years ago had trouble with a bad passport. SInce then she come in and out many times, but last time, she went for few days extension; fingerprinted at SIR Building, then next stop Changi Prison.

Singapore immigration and courts are very strict, and don't tell you what your rights are; quite unfair, especially you don't speak good English or frightened.

So be careful, make sure papers are OK, and apply in advance - too easy to make a mistake, and too easy to go from SIR Building to Changi (not the airport)

Hi,can i Just check with u whats your defination of "new identity"? even if she changed her outlook passport and name i dink chances of detection thru biometric prints is very high that was how her frenz was caught at woodlands custom.initially she managed to clear the airport checks but got into trouble when she was returning from a shopping trip at jb.the court charged for under illegal immigrant act for false declaration of identity, floating the repatriation ban period. she was sentenced of 3 counts and found guilty, subsequently throw to cwp for 3 yrs 2 yrs off remission. i remember my gf told me when they came here they need to go for thumb prints for their 10 fingers and when they left they were made to sign a document not to enter singapore or marry a singaporean guy.for watever rationale i am bewildered. so even if they managed to sneak in the element of danger of being discovered is still here. till now i haven't have ani idea in mind of how to wed her and bring here here. so i guess as what u said being honest is still the best policy.but again have u ever ask yourself how the hell are you going to bring up this topic when u go for interview with the ica or appeal to anti-vice? worse comes to the worse i dun even know how to bring this up to my mp.
