Did they pretend as cheongsters to get numbers and call the girls or they simply stake out the hotels?

AV don't target individual FLs. They select hotels at random as part of their measures to control the vice trade and if the FL happens to be in the hotel at that time - too bad.

Prostitution is not a crime in Singapore - soliciting is. So they cannot pretent to be cheongsters, meet her in hotel and then arrest her.

If you are on a social visit pass and found in a hotel, then they can suspect you of working and deport you for illegally working which contravenes the social visit pass conditions.
