You are able to find KFC, Pizza Hut etc in Viet Nam, first in HCMC a few years ago and now in Hanoi. It seems that Vietnamese people love this kind of fast food too. However, lots of my friends have told me that it is quite expensive but kids are loving it. To compare the income of the average Vietnamese and the price of KFC in Viet Nam, you can see that not many people can afford this kind of fast food.

My favorite vietnamese food is Cha Ca. (Grill fried fish) which was originated from the north Hanoi and later they have it in HCMC too. Its basically some fish that was already seasoned in the kitchen. The wok was placed on our dining table and we've to cook it DIY style. With some other additional ingredient, it was just tasty especially if you eat and drink some red wine.

Hi there,

Have been reading the last few posts by fellow HCMC pr.

I have some vacation time coming up in July (2-6). Have thought of going away solo for some RnR, with the help of some local knowledge.

Hope to be able to meet up with some of the regulars here, and please lemme know if there's anything from SIng that you miss so I may bring it there for you..

I intend to visit HCMC end June. My last information is that Gossip is close. Can any kind bro confirm that it is still close or has it re-open liao ? MGM and Volcano is open correct.

, maybe the other way round.....

Anyway your timing is a bit out as most of us are not there at that time.

Ah seems SunFlower Hotel is the rest stop of choice, I also tried booking thru their website but couldn't.

Emailed Empress Hotel and got a confirm from them, but understand is not gal friendly...
