Getafe 1 - 3 Barcelona : Barca extend away record

Gerard Pique was sent off as Barcelona claimed a 3-1 win at Getafe in the Primera Division to maintain their perfect away record.

Pique handled in the area midway through the second half and was shown his second yellow card of the night.

Manu del Moral converted from the spot, but Barcelona were already three goals up at that stage.

The Catalans went in 2-0 ahead at the interval following strikes from Lionel Messi and David Villa.

Pedro then extended Barcelona's lead with a third goal after 64 minutes and the victory never looked in doubt for Pep Guardiola's side, even after they had been reduced to 10 men.

Lionel Messi struck a hat-trick and Bojan Krkic bagged a brace as Barcelona strolled to an incredible 8-0 victory at lowly Almeria in the Primera Division tonight.

Pep Guardiola's side raced into a 5-0 lead before half-time in a hugely one-sided contest.

Messi opened the scoring after 17 minutes and Andres Iniesta took advantage of poor defending to score the second just two minutes later.

A Santiago Acasiete own goal made it 3-0 before the half hour mark, Pedro made it four 10 minutes prior to the interval and Messi added his second in Barca's very next attack.

Substitute Bojan added two in the second half and Messi completed his hat-trick as Guardiola's side ran riot in Andalusia.

Barca announce shirt sponsorship deal

Barca hv confirmed a shirt sponsorship deal with Qatar Foundation worth €30 million a season until 2016.

It will not affect the existing deal with Unicef, whereby Barca pay the international children's charity 2 carry its logo.

The agreement - which marks the 1st paid sponsor in Barca's history - will help 2 alleviate debts which, in July, stood @ €442 million. The club lost €77 million last season.

They will earn €165 million across the course of the deal, with €15 million 2 be paid 4 the remainder of tis season. It is said 2 be the biggest such deal in the history of football, with ManU & Liverpool - the nearest rivals - earning €23.6 million fr their deals with AON & Standard Chartered tis season.

Confirming the agreement @ a press conference @ Camp Nou on Friday, vice-president of finance Javier Faus said: "With tis agreement, the FC Barcelona brand becomes the undisputed leader in football, ahead of its international competitors."

Dicussions over the placement of the Qatar Foundation logo will be held, but Unicef will retain priority placing.

The Qatar Foundation, founded in 1995, has set up projects focusing on education, scientific research & community development.

Lionel Messi struck twice as Barcelona cruised to an impressive 5-0 win over Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp.

David Villa kept up his good scoring record against Real as he netted his seventh goal in nine games against the Basques with only eight minutes on the clock.
