Combined KL Gathering & TCSS

Just wanted to drop a note of thanks to the bros who organised the last TCSS gathering. Actually I'm still not sure who is who, but it was good fun meeting up and look forward to joining you guys again next time.

I had to leave early because of an "unexpected opportunity" . For the record, can report that nothing much happened (still work-in-progress), so had to satisfy myself with a visit to E2 next day afternoon. Cheers!

Most of the seniors have retired. So gatherings are few. If you like to organise then feel free to organise here.

But wow finally somebody mention about the income issue as one of or the main reasons for stopping their cheonging activities. I thought it was only me having difficulties but didn't expect others to experience it too.

As far as i know, the June 5th petrol hike has really hit me q hard. According to some folks who experience the 97/98 Asian financial crisis, They say this time it's much worse.

I never knew the sky could turn so dark......

Yeah, the difference is:

In 1998 [it started in Thailand on 01 July 1997 when the baht nose dived and caused the Thai Government to go bankrupt in a matter of 2 days] there was a "credit squeeze" - want to borrow money can not leh, so less spending by corporate and taugehs, also cannot buy this and that on credit, for example: car loans, but you still have cash [unless you had ventured into the stock market]

In 2008 it is an "income squeeze" as inflation just cut your pay packet by 30 % and many corporations have toned down on unnecessary spending, and now you dont have enough MONEY [whether cash or credit] Die or not??

The sky will be darker by the day even if oil price were to fall back to less than USD 100 per barrel, no way your wanton mee or roti chanai will go back to where they were priced before the petrol hike....

wont die geh...last time you cheong 2.30-2.50...now choose 1.50-180...if last time 1.50 now pick 1.30 or 1.00...the worst go belakang mati still can get 0.25 - 0.50

Oil prices fall back but prices only revised next month.
News playing up prices to be reduce bcoz of Pemtng Pau by election.
In actual fact, USD now rising and will continue to rise until Oct.
So even if fuel goes down.... MYR in weak state... may not reduce much.

And UK close to declaring recession with another quarter of negative GDP.
See how much good news in the coming budget announcement in Sep.

The dark cloud will shourd us after the Ol Olympics.
And completely cover us after the US elections.
By then maybe prices will fall... bcoz no mkt demand.

Last night, in response to a request from Bro Kou Chiou, I attended a small TCSS at SS2 food court.

Met Futaba and Small Change and of course our long-time-no-see taikor KLKOOL.

The TCSS ended at around 0100 hrs due to food court closing up

Most entertaining TCSS despite absence of opposite gender or any alcohol.
We are very proud because no WL was hurt during this TCSS.
