Hi Alex20, after reading you posts about you wanting to repay your father and making a better life for yourself (hope it is all true), my humble suggestion:

1) See & talk to your doctor, you need to improve your health and get into better shape. You want to slog for your business or next job, you better have the health, also I'm sure your parents are getting older, you still want them to care for you or you want that good health and body to be able to care for them?

2) Business means you want to sell something for money, so have you found something (whether it is goods or service) to sell? Nobody can teach you what to sell, it depends on your business acumen. Remember this, your blog or online shop or whatever you call it is just a means to sell, ultimately it still boils down to what you want to sell, this is something none of us can help, you need to find out and try.

3) While you think about what you want to sell, why not learn some skills and try some more skilled based jobs. I use the example of Crane Operator because my neighbour is one. After reading your post, I ask the kind uncle about his job, he told me, on average (including OT & allowances) he make about 4,000 a month, is the job dangerous? Yes and no, operating a crane requires him to be alert and think through and plan his work so that he can lift things safely, if he try to cut corner or try to be funny then of course it is dangerous. He have been doing this work for 30+ years.

4) While trying out your skilled job, hopefully you will make more money than now, please save it. You may not succeed in your business, but when you failed you still need money to survive so you need to have savings.

5) When you finally start your own business, don't feel dishearten if you fail, just try again, I think you should know this, being your own boss is the most difficult thing to do, that's why most of us don't do it. My own boss told me when he started the company, business was bad, he have to try to find ways to make his product & services sell and he didn't have salary for 6 months although staff like us were paid.

I hope you find something that you can sell.

Bros Let me say what has happened today and I shall expose this company that treated me badly.
I am under an employment Agency known as TCCHR And TCC Group.
I was deployed to work at CK Store. As a part time retail sales assisstant.
I work 5 hours a day and Today what happened has shocked and blown me to my limit and I decided to leave my Job.

Everyday there are stocks to be done and I helped out daily. So what happened today was I done my stocks and arrangements of Products and was told to walk around and put things in order.

Then the Manager of the CK Store Picks on me and shout why this idiot not doing any work? He then asked me to take a metal Cage with 40 boxes to restock. As I am only 1 Person I cant move the metal cage and as such blocked the walkway. He then shouted at me You fucking idiot brainless or what blur king.

He yelled at me in public and Everyone was watching.
I then called my Company and they asked me to go Down. Instead of helping me they say is it I do wrong first or what and asked me not to tell anyone what has happened today. They are trying to hide and not help.

Bros if you do not believe me I will disclose the CK store location and u can see for urself. Normally wearing white polo tee and black pants are staffs from TCC

I have friends with similar back ground as you.

Here's something that you can try (if you can take the tough nature of the job)

2 of the friends which I am talking about entered the trade which most of singaporeans would not even think of, Construction.

However, as a singaporean, the company are more willing to send you for courses as they think you will pass it easier.

my friends entered the trade as safety supervisor at a pay of 2.2k and 2.4k respectively. As heard from them, white helmets do not entitle any OT as their pay is lumpsum.

Even without a proper educational qualification, they worked hard knowing it may be the way to success. they got promoted as time passes, one of them is a site coordinator and other is a site manager.

If you really think you are at a dead end, you may try it but it will be tough

Remember:

you are not a failure if you try but fail, you will only be a failure in life if you fail to try

Yes 4k/month is not bad considering the uncle only studied up to sec 3 then have to come out to make a living, he can't speak English well too but then managed to get his licence.

I applauded your post FelyneHunter, a lot of Singaporean don't like to work in these lines (that's why the jobs go to foreigners). The fact is for these industries the companies want locals, if you willing to work hard, there's opportunities to upgrade and promote.

My friends work in the shipyard (cannot name) but in the news for the high amount of bonus they received. They will tell you, if you are willing to work hard and smart more opportunities will be given to locals although the company can't openly say.

Alex20, to answer your question about going to MOM, I assume you are being paid by TCCHR. If that is the case you are the agency's staff. The manager of CK is your TCCHR's customer because CK sub-contract the work to TCCHR. I do not think MOM can do anything because in this case it is a case of customer and staff issue.

I can't comment on what is right in this case because, I was not there during the incident, what I read is your side of the story. In every job we can come across unreasonable bosses and customers OR we actually do a lousy job and piss people off, both are very common, there's no real need for us to believe you or not. Anyway you have already decided to leave this job and that should be the end of it. I will just say, I probably will handle it differently, but that is me talking cock because I was not there. I can't help you, this should my last post in your thread, good luck in your work.

1 week work 6 days, 4 day week day and 2 day week end your salary will be estimate = $ 1600


5 hours week day = 4 x $50 = $200 including meal and transport
7 - 10 hours week end = 2 x $100 = $200including meal and transport
1 week = $400
1 month = $400 x 4 = $1600

you have saved some transport and meal $$$ estimated around $200 per month.
