Do wives refuse to give husband sex because he does not give her allowance?

TS I think this is a characteristics of your wife, she love to compare with her group of friends....my buddy's (also my neighbour) wife also love to compare herself to her friends. The problem with this is usually they won't stop, it is not a flaw (could be a driving force to excel) but it is making my buddy very tiring.

He gave the wife 家用 (into their joint account), you can also consider it an allowance because my buddy only put money in but never took out. How much? about 80% of his monthly income, while the wife puts in about 15% of her monthly income.

I asked why would he do that, he would say, the wife complaint that she worry about money to send their kid to school about money to use for household and she would nag and nag and then cry, and she would say about how their friends are all upgrading to private housing while they are still in their HDB. She would say her aim is to get a Condo soon. To keep the peace my friend just hand over the money.

I don't know how much TS earns compare to his wife and how big a cut is his wife demanding, but I guess, it is pretty tiring to be living like this. my 2 cents worth.

Let me tell you that living in a point blk 5 room hdb ismuch better than a condo. The only difference is because on the pool, the gym n bbq pit. I lived in a condo n only use the facilities when i first move, already years now, never even know the pool or gym looks like, n paying lots of maintence for nothing.

Most condos are small, unless you pay money to get a big one. 5 room pb is around 1399sq ft.

Well said. And after a condo, what next? My peers are into 3 storey landed houses. They slog their lives repaying the mortgage. I am like, what?! You are in your 40s and you have $1.6m to go? Me, I am done paying for my apartment. Feel so carefree. Got time to come SBF

Actually my buddy knows, both of us are pretty ok with living in our 5-rooms, just that his wife likes to compare with her friends so demand most of his pay.

To TS, of course to invest and slog for an asset so that we have something to hold on to when retire is not wrong, but I think more importantly is to decide what kind of life you want to lead. Although some may think that I have those that have no drive to succeed but I guess to each his own.

To me being happy is to be contented, when my uncle was sailing, he made about 7-8k a month, but he told me he don't enjoy the money since he was on the ship most of the time. His ex-wife and son spent the money...later on I overheard is she had an affair since he was not around most of the time...the divorce was messy....the whole family had to chipped in to buy out his ex-wife share of the house. Anyway his ex-wife got the kid's custody, so my uncle continue to sail, he rented out his HDB and use part of it to pay the alimony for the kid, the balance and part of his salary he used to pay us back.

My uncle was joking with me the other day: "I made so much money, for others to enjoy, luckily my son is more understanding now and starting to be close to me. Boyboy (his nickname to me), you spend so much money to renovate your house, but your maid stay there most of the time. Your car is only to let carparks earn money. 不要有钱没命花"

Anyway TS, to give or not to give an allowance is an issue I think you may have to talk it through with your wife lah. I think every bro here have a different way of dealing with it since our situation all different mah.

What I must say is, in the end this is your 家事. I'm pretty tradititional on this, whenever I told my friend this is my 家事. They understand it is not for discussion unless I say so, because how things are run in the family is only for family members to decide. I think you understand my point sorry if it sounds offending to your wife.

If she is working, than both of you ought to share your family finances not you on the whole family burden.
Starting you both should have opened a joint account, monthly put 1k from each of you. Than settle all the common bills with these accounts eg. Common phone bills, utility bills ....

I have got a friend who started a joint account. Initially it was 50-50. Later when he earned a lot more, he paid 90 % of the expenses but the wife kept saying she does not have enough savings still although she was earning thousands a month. Later when he was earning less because he free lanced to have more time to look after the kids after seeing that his wife always could not spare time or take leave to ferry the children when they have CCA. As she wants more money for overseas holidays,he could not keep up with the previous monetary contributions sex is withheld such that it is on probably once a quarter basis.

Relatives are sometimes to blame as they would lie and boast that their husbands give them a lot of money, without mentioning that their husbands are jobless and borrowing from the bank to continue the high living.
