dear raoulvii,
i sincerely wish to thank you for trying to educate us bros. however, i believe that rather than to take an aggressive stand, why not try to put the message across in a more educational way?
for a matter of fact, i myself know about the stuff you highlighted but yet am still very willing to patronise the FLs provided by OKTS as long as i feel its value for my money; how much money goes to who is really not my concern as it would be the agreement of the FL and the OKT.

as for the excuse they came up with, i have to agree with you that some reasons you mentioned they came up with was pretty unjust.. however, it really doesnt matter to me, because as a consumer, you have the choice of who you want to patronise, or even dont! its like starhub who rise the sports package to $25(nt sure abt the cost) claiming rising cost as an issue.. do you really believe the extra amt we pay all is to cover extra cost? well i dont think so, but thats the way it works, and i believe its up to you if you wanto continue with them or not.. i believe most people here are like me, despite the warped reasons, we still pay.. may be your intention is to wake us up, join your side, however i really do not think it can be done by force.

i appreciate your effort, and applaud your courage to make a stand here despite many criticisms you may recieve. however, i hope you understand that your actions may not acquire the intended results expected..
i believe what you seek is overly-ideal and as much as i really not mind if the situation is such that i could pay less or for a more justified reason, i really dont see it happen asit takes a collective effort for something drastic to happen...

I think at the end of the day it is a supply-demand problem. If the demand drops, then the OKT will have to seriously consider adjusting the price again to meet the demands.

After reading through your replies and your persistency, I understand what you are getting on.

But I think you must understand that most of us don't really bother about the "technicalities" involved in the OKT's business. In fact, I and I believe most bros here, don't even bother to ask the OKTs how his charges comes about. What we would probably asked is whether we can get a discount or lower price. And in doing so, we probably don't even ask him where the cut will be if he does give a discount like whether the discount is from the FL's share or his share.

There are many factors with which bros has in selecting a FL. Like I said earlier, the perceived "quality" of the FLs, our affordability, and the services of the OKTs. Hey, let's be honest. Even if the OKT chares $80 for an FL and his cut is only $5, but if his services sucks, has many complaints, we probably won't go for his FL if we read about it, right?

So, all in all, I do not think the OKT's cut is a factor for fellow bros in choosing FL. So why created the unneccesary heartaches for yourself by asking the FLs or the OKTs for the way they determine their charges? Afterall, who would be in the right frame of mind to tell you that the high price is because the OKT gets more? I mean if Cold Storage tells you their prices of their milk powder are higher because their cost of goods are higher, you believe that? So don't ask, and shop where you feel comfortable.

If u think gal A & gal B r 2 expensive then the gal C & D,then u go 4 gal C & D lah.

Actuallty I am also quite curious why the price of tom-yam soup shoots up so much for the past 10 - 15mths since you can still get a Thai pros for $40-$80 at GL. Actually it is the marketing, photos and internet advertising that is doing the trick. Photos are photos lah. You have to verify them when you see the real product.

So they sell their products at whatever price they deem fit but I will try once and if there is not much diff from GL tom-yam soup then I will not repeat anymore. Simple as that. If ppl are still willing to pay double or triple the GL price for tom-yam soup, then so be it. They make their own choices since it is their own money. Perhaps you pay more for the hotel room than the room in GL.

But nevertheless, must still thank TS for giving us so much info so that we can make "informed" choices rather than guessing why tom-yam soup price is higher now. Supply is still in abundance.

Remember, tom-yam soup at GL is $40-$80 and tom-yam soup from OKT is $120-$180. You have to see and taste the difference.

Simply put, isn't it the market forces at play here? Consumers (demand) <--> okts, agents, gals (supply side). Other COGs (cost of goods sold) in supply chain include htl, airfares. Then, PRICE.

There's also listprice and customer pricing. Any (real) promo is lowering threshold for margin tolerance.
