Okay. Korean lost to the German as anticipated to the disappointment of us in Asia. Watch the game at Boroburdo Hotel instead and lost some money.

So amongst us were some winner and won big on this. Decided to buy drink and we ended in the Karaoke next door called The Grand Manhattan CLUB.

Nice place with 31 rooms with the biggest been able to accomodate 25 ppl, 2 bathrooms and a bedroom. Nice or the best I have seen so far. There is a two tier sitting sofa much like in parliament with 2 huge TV and another 2 smaller TV, a dinning room, a kitchen and a small dance floor. Well, it was too big for the 7 of us so we didn't even check the rates.

Booked a smaller rooms and together with some PRC chick, we had a great time drowning my sorrow for the Korean.

In gerneral, the PRC is fun but too superficial for my liking.

Total damaged for the night wuth some beers, martell, rooms and 3 gals is about Rup 3.5 million.

I have read/enjoyed the Jak-thread tremendously, I think you and Rainman has put up one-of-the-finest threads on Sammy! But the more we "outsiders" read, the more confusing Jakarta scene seems to be!!! Anyway, the thread stirred my desire to visit a first time - but may I ask Sifu for some advice, please:

1) BIG QUESTION: Is it unsafe for a non-Bahasa speaking lone-person to cheong JAK?? for I am now planning to do that for Aug 3-6 weekend, BUT SHOULD I NOT COME!??

Yes and No. But it's best to be accompanied. cos many taxi-drivers especially will test your bahasa first. if they know you can't speak well, they know you are new here and so prepared to be slaughter.
But still depends on individuals..if you are street-wise. you can make your way around without any problems. Martini-Fan can advised you more perhaps.

Likewise.. I felt unsafe to go to Wanchai, even though I'm chinese and speaking a non-HK cantonese. but just being street-smart..you can go anyway without problems.

2) Can I get by at places like Stadium by myself speaking English (and Chinese) only???

Many Hong Konger patronise there too!. Don't be surprised you'll find your own countrymate there. Most mamasan can speak Chinese and English, and foreigners are welcome there..so you won't get ripped off.

2) Do you have any suggested hotels /areas to stay (Jayakarta Tower? If rupiahs-no-object - Le Meridien? though I dont mind any other of hotel...)

If you want to be in the thick of the action. Jakyakarta is fine. but a bit run down (and recently the car-park was BOMBED), a good suggestion would be Mecure Hotel Resko. within walking distance of all THE places. but i suggest you not to walk at night, afternoon is fine (action starts early here).. take a cab always.. but be prepared to get ripped by cab drivers.. it's near , so they'll ask good price

3) If you have any suggested itineraries, it would be great...JAK just seems so sprawling confusing!

Jakarta is confusing.. even for me now.

4) FINALLY, AND MOST IMPORTANT: are you guys in town early-AUG and any chance of hooking up???

Heard you mentioned that ON cost only 500,000 IDR.

Just my personal experience.

The price quoted is not wrong. depends on what time you are there to pick the girls. I always get quoted from Rp700k also.
if you go later..after midnight, you'll get lesser.

But Stadium girls are not known for take out. They'll have more customers for ST. hence the high price you need to pay.

You can try 4th Flr Stadium, pick up freelance. (Not those from the booth)

Or another place in Taman Sari, 150K for 3 hrs, 300k for ON.
Price may have changed.

Got a horny girl there once... and they all dressed in office wear.
(Not those tight T-shirt and Jeans type of girls..one look you know is a street girl)
So you won't be malu to take them to hotel.

Take chaep but groomed clothes.
No watch, a cheap handphone, so 2in1.
Around 50 US$, if it's gone, so what, who cares?
And go in Jakarta everywhere!!
If teksi, take a bluebird, the prices are reasonable.

The Indonesians are IMHO the friendliest people in SEA I've seen. I strolled around in Jkt after dark, no problems (Don't do that in Phnom Penh). There was no difference compared to the hours earlier. Anyway, I think the borderline for trips without a local is midnight. Then you should be in a safe heaven or in a teksi.
I've never had any problems, in dark areas of Haarlem, Bangkok or San Diego, maybe I'm meanwhile too careless, so do it in your way!
Sometimes I like the downscale areas, so I go there, not everyones taste. But the best service ............ (only MHO)
