Hi all. This is my first ever post. I was actually in Bangkok during the bombings but decided to drive to Korat for the New Year countdown with some friends and thus I was not affected by the bombings. In fact, I only knew about the bombings from SMSes from my friends in Singapore, while partying at Korat.

However, upon returning to Bangkok on New Year Day, the city and people looked very normal. I took a drive late evening along some of the major areas of Bangkok. Normal, expect for a military truck full of soldiers on the way to who-knows. After mid-night, I drove to Siam Hotel to check out the offerings. Not much action there. Got a few offers, including "shuang fei" for 2,000 baht. In the end, I managed to pickup a SYT back to my room for a ST.

In my view, nothing much to be worried about. But shit, I am supposed to be in Chiangmai now for biz trip but my kiasu company implemented a travel ban so I am stuck in SG Land for now.

How come this thread "sudden death" since Jan'07?

Mainly due to the fact current period have lesser people going up BKK compared to other times of the year. Also those frequent travellers already have their own group of friends to hang out with,whereas left only the newbies here. Furthermore seems that the threadstarter is not around here anymore,that is why no more updates.

Beware of meeting strangers in the forum,do it with much caution.
