Men always think that we make decisions with logic, very much unlike women who do so emotionally. The thing is that we're not that different. The trouble with man is that we make decisions emotionally then make logical reasoning to justify that emotional decision. In that way, we look like we're making logical decisions rather than emotional ones.

I guess one of the surer ways to ensure that we don't get hurt is to never let ourselves fall deeply in love. Keep love at a minimum... just enough to get by... like gas in a car, never fill it up enough to overflow but just enough to get from point A to B.

Yes, the best shot is still preferred but only if we are prepared and can deal with the consequences. An analogy I can think of would be the differences between focused and diversified investing. Potentials can be much higher if you can focus on a single stock as opposed to diversifying investments. However, diversified investments are more conservative and carry less risks, hence less rewards.

In brief, you may get more but risk more... However, the reverse would be true in contracting STDs... more diversification leads to higher risks. Nevertheless, the quality of the stock plays a large part... private placements normally more profitable than public launches.

Ok then, so this is the tough part. Perhaps it may be a better idea to keep your distance then, no point go tugging her heart strings, making both of you feeling so uncomfortable altogether.

Second to that, many a times we choose the path where our heart leads and not the rational way instead. Why? Perhaps it is the passion in us that spurs us on. Such passions may not bear fruits but certainly leaves no regrets.

Very true but fallen too many times and have since worn Helmet & kneeguards 24/7.

actually, if we try looking at things in broader perspectives... situation/circumstances r just beyond us. no matter how rational 1 can try to be, no matter how 1 weighs concequences, make all the risk assessments prior to committing into any venture... murphy's law still applies "what can go wrong, will go wrong.... ".

what is it that hurts us? the failures/mis-adventures... reaping nothing despite the painstaking efforts. what causes the failures? is it always our part to blame? not all the time. more often than not... its still the common denominator: circumstances.

situation change, objectives and/or agendas take up some recourse/reform, that results veer too far from intiated objectives.

whatever it is, just try our utmost best while we're at it... and see how things go. best not to be pinning our hopes too high also. take heart...

bro, having reservations is not too bad, but going all out as if its a series of extreme sport seems a little too drama lah. dont know if u'd agree, bt i think the more we go on the defense, the more it seems we'd stand at the losing end.

perhaps just take things in gd stride, face the challenges as they come along. a step at a time goes a long way too. enjoy the process... with some objective in mind too, so at least at the end of journey... u're not too far from your intended destination.
