i was in JKT from 30th apr to 2nd may ...
it was a business trip so most of my time are taken up in meeting and discussions ...
i tried to call hartono on his number couple of times when i was back in the hotel room one the first and second night but no one pick up ...

i was the last customer when i left the place cos the counter staff was waiting for me downstair ...
i couldn't comment much abt the place as i didn't even have the chance to walk ard .. but i can feel the staff r not friendly at all ...
from the grd floor counter to the 2nd floor bar counter ...
they just don't feel like servicing me ...
i almost feel like leaving the place since i was not even given a locker to change ... but on second thought, what the heck, i came all the way here and take this shit and leave ?? no way .. even if the service sucks big time, at least i get to write what happened ... and that, they cannot deprive my rights ....
eventually i was "force" to pick gal #28 as they said she's the only one available ...
gal #28, 22 yrs old big boobs .. a 5 rate look .. chubbly with spares at her waist ..
go into a small room with shower at one corner ...
bed was on a higher platform and a small 14" tv was on the floor ..
massage was SOP ... one shot was 400K rupiah ....
agreed and finished it off pretty fast ...
came out of the room and it was total darkness ...
they have switch off all the lights ...
have to feel my way downstairs to pay up and left the place hurriedly as i just wanna get out of the place ...
i am rather disappointed as i was looking forward to a nice cosy place to relax ..
anyway, at least a guy help me to get a cab and i head down to Shangri-la Hotel ...
Get into BATS ... pay at the entrance .. think it was 80K or 90K for one drink ..
thinking i will be greeted by lots of flying bats since the place is called BATS ... but not one in sight ...
whole place was full of white skin guys only ...
there r gals hanging ard the bar counter and side tables but they r all interested in the white skin ...
2 indo gals approached me and we have chit chat for a while ...
they r not my type so we did not further the conversation ...
left the place after 30 minutes later ....

overall ... JKT is a very modern city ....
i was expecting a rather run down city but i was wrong ..
there are so many mega shopping malls ard but what's missing is the crowd ..
and it seems JKT is not a safe place becoz my business associates keep reminding me not to go out alone and if i really need to .. only take the bluebird or silverbird cab ... forget abt the rest of the colors ...
and try not to wander alone ...
thus they always tried to keep me up till late at night and dropped me off at the hotel so i will go straight to my room ..
but being me, i like to venture and take risk sometime ...

i'm sure JKT have more to offer but u will need a trusted local or cheongster to bring u ard ...

I know what it is like when you hit a 'dry run' especially when expectations before the trip can be rather optimistic. If I may suggest , next time you drop in to Jakarta again try the higher end at Alexis and the lower but good value for money end at LA Bar and surroundings. Please check my older threads and I'm pretty sure you will be happy with the results.

Sorry to read about your "plight" and bad experienced in Jakarta / Tropical Spa. I will make sure that Bro Qibye learnt about it.

Some years ago, that place was targetted by the terrorists as it was a favourite accomodation choice for bules. Well I would say that the place is decent and within the city area. Morning and evening traffic though can be problematic but there again, Jakarta is always macet.

Near to Hotel Mulia. Take a cab to Hotel Mulia and walked into CJ after 11pm. Make your pick and then approach and negotiate. Asking should be 1 million rups for ON. ST some girls may also ask for that price. Good Luck
