So bro, see a good doc, get all the tests done until you have a proper diagnosis. Once u noe wat the problem is just be patient and stick with the treatment no matter how long it takes.
hi bro..may i ask what surgeries did your fren go thru? did he suffer from this symptom after a bout of NGU?

its juz a dam long and sad story lor. he had chlamydia. then after that had exactly the same symptom as u. he went to raffles hospital, they did CT scan then say must do surgery to see wat's wrong. during surgery they take out his appendix. which of cos did not help la.

then he went to mt e. the doc did another scan. say the previous surgery make his intestines stick together must do surgery again. this happen 2x.

he also saw urologist who told him is interstitial cystitis. dam cheem. take medicine no help.

then they say his urine too much acid. took the medicine and actually completely well! but after a few months come back again.

then one dam smart doc figured out its just too much f'ing stress and put him on anti-anxiety medicine. now he is 100% ok.

Really during the episode, all sorts of thoughts wandered through my mind. Took Potassium Citrate and lots of water to chase away the symptoms. Saw Dr Ho and this time he prescribed me to take a sachet of anti-bacterial agent called Monurol (fosfomycin trometamol) to treat any possible infection inside the bladder and urinary tract. Did not seem to work immediately but the pain got a bit worse before getting better and eventually no more.

Don't give up hope. Continue to see Dr Ho and follow his advice.

Take care !
bro meimei..seems this bro's fren oso same condition and may oso taken same treatment as us..the monurol is for interstitial cystitis..and potassium citrate is to alkali the urine..he oso ok for few mths but came back again...haizzz

Re: frequent urination

Star fruit poisoning is potentially life-threatening in patients with moderate chronic renal failure

I was googling for natural food that could help reduce high blood pressure when I came across this. Apparently, star fruit although helpful in regulating high blood pressure, it has a bad side effect that is particularly dangerous for those who have renal and urinary-tract problem.

Concern with oxalates

Star fruit contains oxalic acid which can combine with calcium, iron, sodium, magnesium, or potassium to form tiny little crystals with sharp edges known as oxalates. These crystals irritate the tissues.

One should avoid excessive consumption of star fruit on a daily basis. High levels of oxalates in the diet lead to irritation of the digestive system, and particularly of the stomach and kidneys. The oxalates may deplete the availability of calcium and weaken the bone. Oxalates are also known to precipitate the formation of (calcium oxalate) kidney stones.

It is also not advisable to boil or juice the young, immature fruit and consume it to control blood pressure. Excessive consumption of oxalic acid from the young fruit may lead to other side effects.

People with kidney problems should avoid the fruit. The oxalates may cause serious intoxication. Symptoms include insomnia, intractable hiccups, agitation, muscle weakness, and confusion of various degrees. Seizures, and cardio-respiratory arrest and death have been reported.

Above also apply to grapefruit.

Re: frequent urination

Sometimes, especially when health is concern, it might be wise to seek a second opinion from another doctor.
Ever wondered why it is known
as 'practising' medicine and not 'mastered' medicine?
What is 100% right? Thus second opinion is definitely worth the effort.
