And I would hold a grand banquet here of the wedding. Sam will stay with me until then. I will promise you then nothing will happen between us until then. And no one shall breathe the word of the dowry.

The old man and his successor nodded.

The young man stood out and said: Yes. It shall be done. And in a week's time.

The entire village knew the proposal that Glacier brought up was a good plan for they also knew how unreliable Sam's dad was. They pitied Sam but because they had no say in family affairs they could only keep quiet.

Sam teared. This was the first time someone stood up for her. She covered her mouth and knelt down.
