Sorry for the slow updates. Busy with work during weekdays and with family during weekends. I still write when I can and will post when I have accumulated a considerable length.

Re: My Mother May and My Cousin Ben.
There was an uncomfortable silence between them. Then Aunt Corina looked back up at the ceiling and closed her eyes. Ben got off Aunt Florence who seemed to be pretty lost in her post-orgasmic high. He sat between the two women, but was turned towards Aunt Corina.
He had a face of a little boy who was caught lifting change from his mommy’s handbag for a visit to the cybercafe. I imagine he must be at odds end trying to figure out how to worm out of his predicament. Fuck, I don’t even want to think about what Uncle Peter will do to him if word of this went out. Ben is so fucked. “Aunty Corr...” I heard Ben whisper. She did not move or acknowledge him. “Aunty Corr, hey...” Ben placed his hand on her shoulder, making her flinch a little. He shook her gently to induce a response. “Aunt Corr,” he said, “You awake right? Uh... can we talk?” “Go to sleep Ben,” She finally replied in the low husky voice of hers. “What you saw just now...” “We’ll talk in the morning.” Ben blurted the question that had hung over him like an executioner’s axe. “Are you going to tell Uncle Peter?” She was quiet for a while. “I don’t know,” she finally said. “Corr...” Aunt Florence spoke from behind Ben. “You can’t. Please!” She was whispering but I could detect the quiver of fear in her voice. “How... could you?” Aunt Corina asked her back. “How could you do something like this?” “It’s my fault Aunty Corr. I couldn’t control myself,” said Ben. “She’s your Aunty!” “I know,” Ben replied. I saw his eyes leer down the length of her body, lingering at her luscious curves. It stopped at her knees where the bathrobe ended and her sexy white calves began. “How long have you... have this been going on?” She asked. “Ummm... not long. Just started.” Ben’s hand slid from her shoulder down to her arm. It was too deliberate to be an innocent move. Aunt Corina tensed and grew deathly still. Ben, who was either growing bolder, or possibly, stupider, slid his hand lower off her arm and up against the swell of her robed butt. He stopped there, leaving his hand below her curvy hips. Right, I thought. Forget bold and stupid. This guy was nuts. All that sexual energy must have gone into his head and popped an artery. Ben was smiling, looking very excited indeed. His hand moved lower down her body, feeling the full alluring shape of her thigh. His hand reached the end of the robe below her knees where it found warm smooth skin again. Then he stopped and slid his hand back up once more, pushing the robe over her thigh. “Piak!” The sharp slap echoed throughout the room and scared the living bejeezus out of me. Aunt Corina had hit him across his hand and by the look of pain on Ben’s face, the blow was as heavy as it sounded. Aunt Corina quickly pulled the covers up over her body and glanced sharply at Ben who looked hurt. “Go to sleep you terrible boy!” When the shock had settled, Ben returned to his spot across Aunt Florence like a chastised dog with his tail between his legs. No other words were exchanged throughout the night, but the silence wasn’t helping me sleep. All I could think of was the shit-storm which Ben had kicked up in our family. ------------------ I awoke in the morning to some movement on my bed. It was my mother. She looked freshly showered and dressed. “Ops, did I wake you my dear?” She asked. “It’s okay,” I told her. The room was almost vacant. Ben was sitting on the chair looking like something else was not sitting well within him. Aunt Corina and Aunt Florence was gone. “Your Aunties went down first to check when the boats are coming,” my mother spoke up again, answering my unasked question. I nodded at her and she turned her attention to Ben. “Are you okay Ben? You don’t look well.” “I’m okay,” he replied with a weak smile, but was fooling no one. “What’s wrong?” She asked, probing further. She was starting to sound worried. If I were to guess, my rascally cousin was probably not too fond of the prospect of seeing Uncle Peter again. The events last night was quickly replayed inside my head. It all comes down to Aunt Corina. The ball is in her court. “I’m... fine. Really,” He answered. “We should get going before it gets crowded.” My mother agreed and we set off downstairs. The people were already flooding the lobby in droves, eager to see the last of this island paradise. Sometimes it takes too much of a good thing for one to start appreciating the bad. My Aunts were at the lobby entrance. Aunt Corina a cold stern look in her eyes while Aunt Florence seemed resigned, like a sheep smart enough to know that it was heading to the slaughter. My mother greeted them but the following conversation was short and aloof. She was puzzled at my Aunts' mood. Ben looked so pale that he was almost turning green. This was a sheep who looked smart enough to know he was going to be neutered... probably in the most painful way possible. The announcement came that the boat was at the docks. To my utter relief, it wasn’t one of those shaky old dingeys which we arrived in. It was a ferry and a pretty large one too. Aunt Corina stuck close to Aunt Florence the whole time while trying to keep a distance away from Ben like he was a bad influence. We shuffled awkwardly with the crowd into the ferry. My mother and my aunts got seats together in a row. She whispered to me to sit with Ben somewhere else because they had to talk. So I and Ben got seats a few rows further down opposite them. The seats on our half of the ferry was arranged to face their half so we had a good view of the ladies chatting in low voices among each other. Ben seemed torn. At times he couldn’t bear to look at them, but his eyes would keep getting dragged back to the trio of lovely judges discussing his verdict. As the ferry was bobbing along in mid sea, I saw my mother glance our way a few times with her eyes wide and her hand clasped over her mouth. Ben looked ashamed and so did Aunt Florence. “So... how do you like this holiday so far?” I asked Ben beside me. I know I’m probably being a dick, but I can’t help it. “Ahah,” He chuckled nervously. “Okay lah.” “I dunno. I got a bad feeling like things won’t end well.” He stared at me, “W-w-what do you mean?” “Dunno lah. something doesn’t feel right.” Ben looked utterly miserable now. I closed my eyes to catch a few more minutes of sleep, feeling satisfied to have had my revenge on him for messing with my mother on the boat ride days earlier. |
