Best way out for you now is to apply for a bursary. I suppose you are in a arts school of sorts?? If it is a government institution then approach your student affairs ppl and see how they can help. The bursary is open to all needy students and given your family background you will easily qualify. You have to do a little work yourself by filling in the forms and getting the relevant supporting documents.

Anyway I believe this forum is not a good channel to raise money, there are other forum to raise. I suppose there is kind and generous people in singapore, just look at how much blogger Roy has raised within 4days - 70k, and yet donator do not get any return.
