Gunze is a good brand; worn it before and yarn quality is good. Good idea to check it out if I am going to that area.

I am partial towards their sheer to waist type - "魅" - so far it's been very good. There was one random case where there was already a small hole in it before I wore it, not sure how it got there, might be a manufacturing defect. But otherwise it's fine.

Smooth, looks matt with a been of sheen at some angles. I guess it's around 15-20 Den?

You'd need to make sure the crotch area doesn't sag too much, which means occasionally adjusting it/pulling it back up when needed.

The "魅" is quite similar to the "肌" just that the 肌 has the reinforced panty part and the 魅 is sheer to waist. So given that you can assume 肌 is more durable. But I just like mine sheer to waist.

Have also tried the black ones though, nothing particularly special. I prefer the skin tone ones.

Have tried "透" but the texture doesn't feel as good as the 肌/魅. While 透 has a lower denier count it is more fragile. So overall, my favourite is still 魅.

I'm still waiting for the one with the toes to come in.

Have you seen this brand in stores? Went to Isetan but they don't carry it. Kind of like shopping for hose innperson and beating that awkward mentality that other ladies may have.

Most places won't carry Atsugi/Gunze/Fukusuke/other Japanese brands. Either that OR it's a stupid mark up in price that might as well buy it online.

Mentality wise --- bobian. Singapore is quite close minded place for an "international city", nothing you can do about it. If you want them to feel more at ease, say it's for your woman, lol.

I kind of stopped buying from brick and mortar shops. Often they don't carry the one you're looking for, and might not have the shade too. Imagine a certain type has 7 shades and three sizes, the regular shops won't have space to stock them all.
