"Advice" is a non countable noun, you do not add an "s" to make it plural.

I don't know how old is you GF what kind of assessment you have make and did she mentioned about her family and will she introduce you to her family when you are there? If she will to introduce you to their family, you are already safe(50%). Mostly, SY people are very warm and is very fond to introduce friends to their family and relative so be prepare.

Restrict you limit when drinking with their friends families member and relatives if you happen to have a chance to get together. They are all super drinker, even the girls. As long as you don't get yourself high you are okay, I believe you can make judgement. Example,when you are drunk it it not safe and also you should not trust youself to drive let someone stir for you.

If I will you I will do find out more information like which part of SY she is residing and how do the family celebrate their occassion, like birthdays anniversary, etc, etc, at least you have some ideas on their family background. The reason of asking question like these, at least you can know how knitted is she with the family.

In Dongbei, close knitted family are very fond of celebrating occasion like anniversaries, birthdays and public holidays.

Whatever you do in SY just enjoys your trip when you are there.

My MM just call me last nite happily telling me what she plan to bring to to places on interests in Shenyang. But something sounds funny cant really make head & tails of it...

She saying she going to find me a driver that will ferries us around when we go to shenyang. My question to all bros all out is it safe to engage a personal driver over there?

looks like your gal is one who's of grace
bcos getting around without own transport esp the touristy parts
can be a hassle, and getting a taxi unless inthe city, can be hard
my gal used to arrange for a personal driver to take us around
until she passed her driving and now she drives me whenever I am in town
like you, I was wary initially
but if you are alert and listen/watch carefully
your trip may even be one heck of an adventure really
packaged tours wont take you to where you can witness real happenings
of people and families living, toiling, arguing, crying, laughing and playing
but since you're a typical kiasu, kiasi Sporean,
the following you may want to observe for self presevation
carry only enough cash on you,
record all details of people meeting you
put it in sealed envelope addressed to you
gave it to hotel reception with instruction to open it if you fail to return
finally, cheong ah...and enjoy your trip lah
if the earthquake has not already spoiled it to make it lagi susah
