Personally, I wouldn't bother much .. the IJM are another bunch of assholes who got their priorities mixed up... spending the money to rescue women who don't want to be rescued is bad - the money should be better spent in weeding corruption and generating jobs, so the girls don't go into the 'trade'

Well, well, a few months ago, a group of IJM "POLICE" arrived in Cebu airport, to escort one of their benefactors (some asshole who wants a make-believe armed escort I guess) and were promptly remanded by the local cops, who saw a new group in their patch .. despite all loud shouting by the IJM cops that they are "INTERNATIONAL COPS" .. and later were released on conditions that they don't flaunt their weapons anymore ..

The IJM cops went whimpering that "international police" are not respected.

Too many western movies I guess - and they see themselves as vigilantes ..

Well, it will be fun, to see a turf war ..

Fret not - they need to fear the local cops than you .. unless they learned their lesson .. or one of these days they may get bumped, filipino style ..

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

sorry, drifted off ..

the cops arrested were another bunch of idiots .. not much different from the IJM cranks I guess ..

International Police Commission

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/55749/a...ckets-id-cards

Airport police arrested last Wednesday five armed men and a woman who were wearing fake SWAT uniforms and carrying military IDs.

Police arrested the group after they failed to present documents allowing them to carry firearms.

One of those arrested, Joeribe Comendador, 38, of Lapu-Lapu City, told Cebu Daily News that he and the others belong to the International Police Commission (Interpolcom), a group registered in California, USA, and recognized by the Philippine government.

He said they were there to ask for IDs and passes to enter the airport so that they could meet and escort their organization’s head who planned to visit Cebu.

The claims for the group are still being verified.

Police said they would file charges of illegal possession of firearms, illegal use of uniform, insignia and usurpation of authority.

Comendador said the Interpolcom was a nongovernment organization (NGO) that assists governments in implementing peace and order.

The others arrested were Edwin Adoracion, 45; Asher Picondo, 39; Genaro Estoque, 40; Tirso Mag-aso, 39; all of Lapu-Lapu City and Julia dela Cruz, 40, of barangay Talamban, Cebu City. Comendador said they all carry the rank of master sergeant. They are now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.

Insp. Gilbert Tagayon, deputy of 7th Philippine Civil Aviation Security (7th PCAS), said even if their claim as a police auxiliary group would be verified, the members aren’t authorized to wear a military uniform.

The group arrived at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Mactan Cebu International Airport to ask for identification cards and access passes for the airport. The six were dressed in military camouflage uniforms and carried handguns but couldn’t show permits to carry the weapons or gun licenses.

The group also claimed to have an appointment with MCIA general manager Nigel Paul Villarete. When they were frisked, airport police discovered .45-caliber pistols with live ammunition.

Airport police turned over the firearms at the Regional Trial Court yesterday afternoon.

Comendador said his grup Interpolcom had been operating for the past 10 years and had joined Lapu-Lapu City police in checkpoints since the time of Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el. He said they were volunteers and held

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

I remembered recently someone was asking abt the exchange rate of Spore citibank atm card withdrawal in AC .
I made a withdrawal at Mc arthur for 10k pesos n the deduction is SGD $301.68

Works out 1 SGD is abt 33.15 pesos for atm withdrawal
Money changer is abt 33.70

So the difference is abt 55peso or 1.6% lesser for 100 SGD atm withdrawal compared w money changer.

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

I just received Cebu Pac Schedule change again for Xiamen -- Clark flight change in June , after change in my Macau -- Clark flight next week.

Luckily this time the timings were more favourable as shifted few hours earlier from midnite to late evenings.

Looks like they r rescheduling alot of international flight timings.

Excellent feedback. I was about to open a Citibank account and was waiting for your numbers before committing.

Use this opportunity to get free changes to your flights.

I have yet to confirm our actual flight date for Clark-Cebu early May. I considering going to Leyte after reaching Cebu. I will help you get into your hotel and probably leave by boat at 5am to Ormoc.

As you rightly pointed out, it can be anything you want it to be, hence to each of us, our own little fantasy world. Its the people I believe. While not every single one of them are good, most are.

Welcome to AC, I hope you'll return.

Thanks boat collector. Well, I felt the stuff I wrote were boring compared to other posts. While writing , I guess I was overwhelmed by my first visit and kinda went overboard. Haha.. Anyway TR is Trip Report and BM is Board Member.. I'll be back soon and we could catch up hopefully..Thanks and have a gd day

Oh correction. It's Manila---Xiamen---Manila. Cebuair does not fly Xiamen ---Clark route.
I,ve already accepted the changes as I need the 6 day stay in Xiamen to visit my ex-GF in Fuzhou. Maybe spend a day or 2 in Manila before going AC.

As for Cebu trip, can u confirm whether u going Leyte?
Is it possible to get a refund from the airline if i cancel my tickets since they are the one that changes the flight schedule?

My boracay flight from Kalibo to MNL leg also got rescheduled but only 30min later. Not too bad for me.

Payment by Citibank always give me the best exchange rate overseas. Amex is one of the worse. Standard Chartered card is also the worse around according to my friend. Go with Citibank, no worry about bad exchange rate.
