salary dun always increase for poor people like jc and me...and even it increases it does not increase in proportion to prices of real assets, for eg property prices has almost doubled from 07 to now...have our salaries double?

IMHO, the largest of our monthly expanses is probably in our housing. All of us want to buy an affordable house. However the word "Affordable" do not mean what the bank is willing to loan to you cos you are also inflating other household items and furnishing with a bigger unit. It is also normal for us that as we earn more, we spend more. Putting this thread title aside, generally, it makes good money sense to keep our lifestyle in check cos the things we spend on a 50,000 annual should not be a GREAT different with a 500,000 annual actually.
