For finding out about the martial status of your vietnamese gf, you will have to approach the District Police of your gf's home. If she is from the province, then go to the police that takes charge of that area. You need such letters to get married in Singapore meh? Only Singaporean man who are getting married to viets in Vietnam need such letters from Registry of Marriage in Singapore.

For PR application in Singapore, i will just share with you my experience and limited knowledge. From what i know, its now tighened even further, not easy to get PR immediate after marriage. My wife got her PR 4 months after application. Normally, ICA will tell you it will take up to 6 months.

My wife's recent few encounters with new viet spouse in singapore all see them getting LTSVP except one . The one that got PR after 5 months of application is a very strong case. The spouse is not a WL from Joo Chiat, never been to Singapore before. Singaporean husband is employed by large MNC as Regional Manager, holds a MBA, owns a condo, income over $120k a year. Age around 38, viet spouse's age around 27.

PR is getting more difficult to get. So if cannot get PR, LTSVP will be good enuff as your viet spouse will be able to stay in Singapore.

I need the letter as i'm a malay guy and the marital status is part of the documents needed for application of marriage. For the application of PR, i hope my spouse is able to get it as it will lessen my financial burden.

Let's do a survey, how many of our Bro's Viet spouse got her PR a few months after Marriage recently? How many got after 1 year? How many of yr Viet spouse got Singapore Citizenship? I start off with mine.
