Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
My MIL started to distribute her `wealth of land' to her sons and daughters. She gave each of them 3 pieces of land in the province, inclusive of a daughter who married a rich vietnamese, but my wife was left out. The reason she gave was that my wife married a foreigner, so not eligible to get a portion of her wealth. Although the sister married a rich vietnamese, she still get because she is in vietnam. Damm.... my wife felt neglected and asked her mum `i feed all in family for over 10 years by working hard in saigon' and the mum said `that's all in the past'. Thank god, i don't need to depend on tis MIL's land to survive. Think about it, she has 2 sons, 4 daughters (inclusive of my wife). She gave out 3 pieces of land to each child (excluding my wife), so its 15 pieces of land and she still have some more for herself. She still dare to tell me she is damm poor. I think i am poorer than her. Lesson learnt, next time if she says she needs this and that, i will tell her to sell her land to get the money as i am a damm poor SIL.

A bit confusing, hope u can explain and let us understand Viet more. Just curious, 1)If your mum in law has so much land and has a rich son in law... why your wife still work so hard?? Unless the land is worthless. If worthless then forget about getting the land. Or she just wanted your wife to work? 2)Your mum in law treated your wife a working machine or she was not her actual daughter??? 3)So the rest of the kids, stayed at home and shake legs for 10 yrs? 4)U meant your wife only now know her mum has many lands now? 5)How long have u been married?? Your wife 10 yrs of working means, before marrying to u? If yes, after marrying u, how the mum n family survive?? 6)How much your wife earned for that 10 yrs to keep a family survive in Vietnam?

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
1)If your mum in law has so much land and has a rich son in law... why your wife still work so hard?? Unless the land is worthless. If worthless then forget about getting the land. Or she just wanted your wife to work?
The rich SIL only came into the picture 2 years after my wife and i married. Even rich, he is super thrifty. Every expense of the family will be split 50/50 with me. Even if the land is not worth that much, 1 piece of land is still worth around 15k to 20k USD. 2)Your mum in law treated your wife a working machine or she was not her actual daughter??? My MIL treated my wife like a money spinning machine. My wife is her mum's actual daughter. 3)So the rest of the kids, stayed at home and shake legs for 10 yrs? Before my wife married me, the rest of the kids + my MIL and FIL shaked leg in the province for 10 years 4)U meant your wife only now know her mum has many lands now? Yes you are right. My wife only know that her mum has so many pieces of land recently. The mother has been telling my wife that she's very poor all this while. She only told her other daughter that she has a lot of land. Its this sister of my wife that told my wife that the lands have been distributed and my wife confronted her mother and her mother admitted. 5)How long have u been married?? Your wife 10 yrs of working means, before marrying to u? If yes, after marrying u, how the mum n family survive?? My wife and i have been married for over 7 years roi. the 10 years is before marrying me. After marrying me, i told my wife that her family needs to work. 1st 2 years i feed them, after that, they only started to work when i refused to feed them. 6)How much your wife earned for that 10 yrs to keep a family survive in Vietnam? My wife worked in the night scene for many years. Because of her looks and her sense of dressing, she has had a few rich bf before. Her mum's house used to be a run down attap house, but the few bfs that my wife had came up with the money to built the house for them, and also supported the whole family. Actually this is very normal in vietnam. |
