We were backed to the living room joining Isabelle and my puppy, while my maid was struggling to re-arrange my room.

My parents backed......

June was extremely nervous from the way she looked and behaviour. I realised she grab Isabelle's hand with some might and was standing, waiting to welcome my parents and as though they are some VVIPs.


My parents stepped inside the living room.


June: "....Aunty......Uncle...."
Mum: "Hey....hi......welcome....you must be urr....urrr....June right? My son told us that you are here. Come....feel easy ok....Don't be pasieh(Shy)."
Pa: "Hi.....welcome....yah.....just make yourself at home. Easy girl...."


June: "urrrr.....sorry to impose on you guys. Isabelle...what must you say?"
Isabelle: "oh......Aunty....uncle...."

June: "Oh.....this....this...."
Mum: "Oh...she is so beautiful..... Like mummy like daughter. So pretty. Hi little girl, what's your name?"
Isabelle: "My name is Isabelle... Aunty I like the dog."

Mum: "Hahaha....good girl....you want some sweet?"
Isabelle: "No....mummy say I cannot eat sweet and I cannot take from strangers."
Mum: "So adorable.....and a sweet girl just like the mummy....And very obedient you are."

June: "She...she is quite naughty at times."
Mum: "It's ok....kids are playful and mischevious at times. As long as they are brought up in a proper way. Hey.....don't just stand there, take a sit."
Pa: "Yah.....you have been standing before we are in. Come take a sit."

June: "Aunty...let me carry this for you."
Mum: "No No.... I can get the maid to carry. You are my guest."
Me: "Hi....you relax....let the maid to carry."

June: "But.....urrrr...."
Mum: "Don't feel uneasy. By the way, what do you like to eat or what's your favorite dish? Let me cook for you."

June: "Don't want lah aunty. How can I ask you to cook for me?"
Mum: "Huh huh....see...who is standing on ceremony? It just an additional pair of chopsticks and a bowl. Meal time should be the more the merrier right?"

June: "But.....but..."
Me: "hey ma....what about cooking my favorite prawn paste pork ribs?"
Mum: "No ribs lah. You go and buy loh then I will cook."

Me: "Wah...you bias leh! Unfair...you rather cook for her than me?"
Mum: "Excuse me....are you a lady?"

Me: "Woah......sided with her liao."
June: "Urrrr.....don't like that lah....I paiseh....."
Mum: "Don't bother about him! Tell me if he ever bully you."

June: "Nope....aunty."
Mum: "Ok...feel easy...let me go to the kitchen and prepare tonight's dinner."

June: "Ohhh...aunty..let me help you."
Mum: "Don't need. I can handle."
Me: "My mum can easily cook 10 dishes in a short time for many people. Don't ever play play with her."

June: "Urrrr.....then I must learn from you aunty."
Mum: "Hmmm...if you are interested, you are most welcome to my kitchen. I can share some culinary skill to you."

June: "Thank you aunty."


Soon June and my mum were inside the kitchen. While me, Isabelle were with the dog. My father as usual would just watch his favorite National Geographic Channel and Discovery channel.

Finally dinner time!

Sat down and started tucking in the ever fragrant home-cooked meal done up by my mum and June.


Mum: "Hi June, tuck in. Don't be shy. Hope you like the dishes."
June: "Aunty that's alot to me. I will sure like it. Thank you."

Mum: "Do drink the soup also."
June: "Will do."

Mum: "Iittle girl.....do you like fish?"
Isabelle: "Yes....."

Mum: "Ok....here's one big piece for you."
June: "What must you say?"
Isabelle: "Thank you aunty."

Me: "So what have you contributed to this dinner?"
June: "Urrr....nothing.....just help to wash the vegs...."
Mum: "Why you ask huh? It's me who ask her not to do anything."

Me: "I don't mean anything lah...aiyoh!"


The dinner was filled with happy atmosphere. My mum just kept dishing dishes to June's plate. And guess what, the food ended up on my tummy!

After dinner, June, Isabelle and me took a stroll to the nearby park. 3 of us held hands together. Reached the park and Isabelle just helped herself to the swing whereas me and Isabelle just sat on the bench.


Me: "How's dinner?"
June: "It's nice....your mum can really cook. I am so full."

Me: "See I told you my mum is a good cook right."
June: "Yah...indeed. She is so skillfull.Can cook so many dishes in a matter of short time"

Me: "So....you sound interested to learn hor?"
June: "....wanna capture my loved ones with my culinary skill mah."

Me: "You mean for me?"
June: "Who says.... don't be too thick-skinned hor."

Me: "Urrrr....better not. Who knows when you are going to poison me."
June: "Don't talk to you."

Me: "hehehe....angry already huh?"
June: "Don't tak to you."

Me: "Come on lah....let me kiss you."
June: "Hey...public place huh. Watch your action ok."

Me: "Hor..."

Me: "So I am sure you have some precious time with my mum in the kitchen all the while yah."
June: "Yah....we chatted alot."

Me: "So what are the topic?"
June: "Hmmm....you want to know? But too bad cannot tell you. Womens' secret."

Me: "Wah...so fast tag-teamed with my mum already lor."
June: "Hehehe.....who ask you to be so naughty just now."

Me: "When?"
June: "Just now lor....Say I am going to posion you."

Me: "Joking mah.... I know you are serious and how you feel about me."
June: "Good that you know."

Me: "I have no doubt about you dear."
June: "Hmmm....so you planned for me to stay with you right?"

Me: "Hmmm....to be honest, Yes. I was hoping so much that you can stay with me. I can't make you stay in the hotel. I just don't feel safe and easy for you to stay in hotel. I did weigh the consequence and the effect and eventally I decided to pop the suggestion."
June: "......so ....you got what you want them...."

Me: "I feel safe now that you are under good hands. I just want you to stay here as long as possible or till the episode ends between you and him."
June: "But....if it's going to take a few years, how?"

Me: "Then just be it. Unless you don't want us to have a new beginning?"
June: "Nope.....I mean I can't just stay at your parents place for nothing or...you know what i mean?"

Me: "Don't worry. If my parents never object why should you?"
June: "But I just think that I shouldn't leech onto someone's house or life like that."

Me: "What if I insist? Will you stay with me?"
June: "...I......."

Me: "I want you to stay with me...."
June: "......."


The topic stopped. We held tight to each other, gazing the stars under the clear night.

Just 2 cents of my thoughts, by staying over at your place, wouldnt it be negetive should her ex husband hire a PI and use that during custody over Isabelle? Why not make the first move and hire a PI to gather evidents against him of unfaithful towards their marriage and mean while rent an apartment for June and Isabelle?
