Much further down the aisle, near the giant screen, I saw 2 familiar faces… they were operators from the factory. With hurried steps, I got ahead of them. Merging with the main crowd, I quickly stepped out of the cinema, relieved that I was not spotted by them. However Jenny wasn’t too pleased….

Jenny: Hey…wait for me……why are you walking so fast?
Me: Sorry .…. I turned around to face her.

Holding her hand I walked away briskly, ensuring she kept up with my fast pace. With a worried disposition, I looked back every now and then, hoping that they will not be behind us and end up in the same final destination.

Soon we arrived at the hawker center…

Me: Nothing la….really
Jenny: From just now after the show until now, you are like trying to catch a train.
Me: Sorry…. I thought walk faster so can get empty seat before the rest get here ma…..I came up with a lame excuse.

Me: Let’s go the other side, less people, maybe can find an empty table……. as I point to a quieter corner at the far end

The hawker center was quite crowded. Most of the tables were occupied with diners. I scanned the area, making sure the coast is clear. Finally we spotted an empty table and sat down. My eyes stared ahead….

Jenny: Eh…what are you looking at?
Me: Nothing in particular…..what do you want to eat, I go order
Jenny: No, I go…I know what I want….what about you? ..... Want to try the fish ball noodles, they are very good
Me: Ok

“Seow lian eh, ai lim sim mi”……..

It was the auntie from the sugar cane stall. I ordered 2 cups of sugar cane juice without forgetting the lemon. Not long after, Jenny came walking back.
