There is too much hype and pity for the Vietnam guy. He didn't buy the apple phone from an official source. He choose to buy from a dubious location. Despite warnings posted on the first level. He clearly compared between various shops before finally choosing the 'cheapest' aka black shop to try to save a bit of money on such a big purchase. Which of course the black shop is at wrong also.
At the end of the day he still gets an iPhone for his money.

What about we S'poreans being cheated in other countries? I kena cheated a few hundred in Thai girl show before and Philippines Cebu seafood before. My friend got cheated $2000 in Phuket beach before cos he 'damaged' water motorbike. Which of course was a scam. He didn't even get anything out of it and he was just a student. Then the sg woman almost kena cheated $40mil by China man also. Should we issue warning against china?

The Vietnam guy is a disgrace to his country by kneeling down. I don't buy his story of borrowing money from friend to buy the iPhone. If he has the money to travel to sg as a tourist, but no money to buy phone, what logic is that? If you don't have a big head, please don't wear such a big hat. Period.

A fair deal, only when customer is fully informed what he has to pay, and be given a choice to back off if he want to on that spot. That joker seems to has no shame doing these dirty tricks.. as he even punished the victim like a dog...

Yes, there are scams in other countries as well,
but remember all these are dirts that need clean up, we can't do much if we are just a tourist, now if we knew our place is dirty so we should do something to clean it up...these scam should not be tolerated... Just like when you discovered the girl you booked turn out different when arrived ... surely you will curse.. Get it?

Those who gave money to him is out of their heart. This Jover guy asking for his own trouble he faced today. We have to be careful when we go else where. But in Singapore where it is know for clean and good place to shop, such tactics are not common and that is why it need to be cleaned up before the reputation gets bad, and no one comes.

Not all shops are bad in Sim Lin, but just because of few rotten ones, many shops are affected.. you should know it is good or bad to have more "Jover" business around your shop...better to clean him/it quickly, let the customer confidence back and shop without fear...end the saga early..

Some customers are difficult, no doubt, in service line it is part of the job ...salesman should never throw their temper at customer... if there is a dispute, why can't handle with proper negotiations and talking and explanation using a "cool" head... when I employ salesman, first thing I need from him is whether he good at handling difficult customer..

I totally disagree with you. The willing buyer and willing seller thing works if all the terms are explained. For example if Jover tell the buyer that the price of the IPhone is $2000 ($1000 for phone and $1000 for warranty) and the buyer agrees, then this is a true "willing buyer, willing seller).

If his staff hides the clause and try to cover it inside a contract and then disclose it after the buyer signs the contract, then this is unfair to the buyer. Long time ago, properties are translated any old how but things improve after a government body is found. I think this case is similar

I always believe in fairness. I try my best not to cheat ppl and hope ppl don't cheat me. To be honest, the shit Joven created just screw all the rest of the Sim Lim tenant. I know a few just want a decent leaving. What happens if no one visit Sim Lim square?
