From what I understand, most of these pdmm are divorcees and got nothing much to loose. And their kid is their only hope. So, they must survive no matter what. If they got rich hubby, they do not need to work that hard, hubby send them 2k a month for maintenance liao.

Some of them tries hard to get hooked on to an old man to get PR so that they have less restriction. Others try to look for a BF to provide some emotional/financial support.

Just wonder how many TN are decent joints and what proportion are sleazy?

i think the govt must be sick of those china pple using Singapore as a stepping board to the world, yet are not contributing to the Singapore economy.

I wonder if fellow samsters here when on board the place to China ever read an article saying a lady in a beauty contest once state that she will not regard China as a home though she is born in China. This lady received her secondary education in Singapore (think got her “A” level here as well) and then move on to further her education in Canada and settle there. And although this article did mention its not totally Singapore’s fault but it dose somehow already Singapore into bad light.

But I guess the police will only target those "Hotspots" i.e where there are a huge flow of crowds or location where its too open to be ignore. Killing everything off in one swoop will only cause the govt to encounter new types of problems faster and I like to think they would avoid that. Closing the TNs one by one will give the public an impression that they are working and at the same time softening the impacts on the pdmms.

Yup, I feel that the government shouldn't implement the regulation so quickly. Should probably give the PDMM 2 to 3 months grace to fold up their business and find new employment and livelihood.

As for sleeping in void deck, I certainly hope they need not resort to that. The mother and child will suffer tremendously. I hope that they will be able to find some other employment such as domestic help or work as waitress, hairdressers, etc.

Please take heart that we should understand these pdmm. For their sake of their childrens' future, these pdmm left their country to be here to earn more money and to give their child a better living. Their only satisfaction gained is when their child perform well in schools. Don't forget pdmm neeed to contribute $1K to MOE every two years. Then there is their monthly expenses, school fees etc. These pdmm MUST be allowed to work in TN centers.

Most of these pdmm have many man friends and unless we men can control our jealousy and does not expect much from a relationship with them, nothing will happen.

But I do not have pity on those PRC on social pass to be allowed to work in these TN centers. This group are the most cunning, flirt and greedy.

I think pdmm should be the one allowed to work in massage joints instead of the local gals. Most of these local singaporean gals are cheating on their bf or hubby to work in this line. Some are even richer but for whatever reasons they are lazy to slot hard in other jobs available.

I Support PDMM.

The series of measures were not a knee-jerk reaction..

One could see it coming the recent murder of the china woman at AMK TN was a catalyst which the Police could no longer just gloss over... the mushrooming of TNs in the heartlands have also caused concern and disquiet amongst the residents-esp. the women.

A couple of years ago HC bosses already warned me that sooner or later they would have to convert to "open-concept" and it remains to be seen if the latest rulings would extend to HCs..I keep my fingers crossed the will not!!

The new regulation will mean KO for most for of the TN. What will happen is that all this suddenly out of job PBMM or PRC on social visit pass will end up in GL. Some will go underground and we will know, I am sure, how to contact them again. They will not be so open anymore.

The Police only mention those TN in HDB estate but those in GL and non HDB estate, they omitted to mention.

Abt Singaporan, PR and Malaysian only allow to work in TN, this will restrcit the PRC more. Guess some will end up in KTV also. Maybe thats what the Police really wants. Drive them out of HDB estate. They know they can't eradicate the business totally but at least they can influence where the business should be clustered.
