Lunch was really to serve. Everyone was gathering at the dining table. Only June and my mum was dishing and serving all of us.

It was a nice sight to see June wholeheartedly serving my family. She is just so different from the normal side which I have seen about her. Such a demure woman....


Me: "Hey Isabelle, did you have a good bath?"
Isabelle: "Yes uncle."

Me: "Are you hungry?"
Isabelle: "Yes uncle."

Me: "Ok....lunch is ready. See what mummy has cook for us."
Isbelle: "Ok."


Fish head noodle. My favorite


Me: "Wah....that's my favorite."
Mum: "Yah......better enjoy."

Me: "Thank you hor."
Mum: "You only know how to eat. Never help out."

Me: "Aiyah....I know with you in the kitchen, everything also can. And now you have one capable helper....hor?"


I turned and signalled to June....


June: "Urrrr...no....I didn't help aunty much. Aunty done most of the cooking. I merely help to cut the vegs and clear the basin."
Me: "Better than me lah.... Nah....this big fish meat as a reward for helping to cook."

June: "Urrrr.....you can have it."
Me: "Hor hor hor....are you trying to hint that my mum's cooking not to your standard is it?"


My mum interrupted.


Mum: "Don't bully people lah."
Me: "Wah wah wah..... you side with her huh!"

Mum: "Why cannot? Both of us are women."
Me: "Ok...both of you win lor..."

Me: "Don't argue with you women!"


Me: "So any plans later?"
June: "Hmmm....remember I want to bake later? You forgotten huh?"

Me: "Oh yah. Hey mum, June is going to bake cake for us later."
Mum: "Oh....great. Need any help? Let me help you."

June: "Urrrhh...aunty....don't want to impose you. I can do it myself for all of you. Can I borrow your kitchen and oven?"
Mum: "Sure can. Go ahead to use it. If you need anything, come to me personnally or ask the maid ok. Don't be shy."

June: "Sure aunty. Thank you very much."


Me: "So what do you intend to bake later?"
June: "Can I keep it a secret?"

Me: "Hmmm...ok. Good things must wait hor."
June: "Yape.... Can you help me take care of Isabelle?"

Me: "Sure. I will bring her out for a stroll."
June: "Thanks. Else I can't concentrate."

Me: "Hahaha..."

Isabelle: "Uncle I want to go to the library, can?"
Me: "Oh sure. You want to borrow books?"

Isabelle: "Yes. Alot."
Me: "Great. Ok...straight after this lunch ok."

Isabelle: "Ok."

Pa: "You are never so helpful last time leh....Wah...suddenly change your self huh?
Me: "Hey Pa.....all this while I want to help hor but always kenna rejected by you folks...sigh..."


The lunch was a joyous one with constant jokes and laughs. Can see that my mum was very happy chatting with June. I was praying that everything could work out well between this 2 women....
