I rather you pity us poor bros that just lost this small respite from HCM-itch and also will have to wait a few weeks for new blood to come in.......life still have to go on.... anyway its true that those gals are quite "poor ding" to travel so far and then kena shipped back like this

Many of us singaporeans would have no questions on the arrests of WLs who operate blatantly and illegally in our country, including those in HC.

However, several questions arises on raids in pubs.

1. On whose authority are the AV officers given the right to pursue female patrons in pub, shaming them by loading them up in full public view into lorries/vans?

2. On what grounds are such female patrons forcefully taken away? Where are the evidences?

3. Our constitution protects females, including female tourists, and if solicitating for sex CAN be proven beyond reasonable doubt, then such women are guilty of a criminal offence punishable by a merciful law which do not merit or amount to a draconian heavy handed charge such as a ban. But the power to 'ban' has been increasingly used. The question is, who gave such authority to MHA, when such authority had never been given in the constitution, a social contract drawn up and agreed upon by our forefathers?

4. Is MHA or the AV dept going overboard with its powers amounting to abuse of our constitution?

5. What next? Why not ban ALL FEMALE tourists as well? After all, it seems we singapore men who unquestioningly serve our NS are nothing more than 2nd class citizens, whom seemed to have no recognisable voice or right, compared to 1st class citizens such as sg females who have a powerful women's self righteous lobby who can force their demands on their policatical spouses, as well as 1st class sg citizens foriegn talents.

6. What legal right does MHA dept has to tell female tourist patrons where they should and should not go, what time to go home, etc, interfering with their rights and privacy?

7. What legal right does MHA dept has to determine the time frame to deport a female tourist, when the right to even deport is not even established in the judiciary?

8. When do the raids by MHA from mere checking of premises approved by society as a whole becomes a constant harrasment to the quiet enjoyment of pub patrons? Have citizens, who voted its elected representatives to the legislative to help run the country by management of its civil servants, no right to quiet enjoyment in pubs meant for adults?

Each and every bro, after a hard day's work on the economic battlefield and looking forward to some quiet enjoyment with friendly companionship in a pub, will ask these questions, more so during election times. Singaporean males are not stupid, for they will look at past performance of electable representatives, will not be tempted by temporary allowances just before elections, to chose those who will best serve majority interests.

if you feel MHA is abusing their powers. please complain to your local MP or write to the Straits Times forum that AV is disrupting your neh neh rubba session with a Viet girl while sipping beer in a JC pub.

I would applaud you for your sound logic and rightfully worded arguments. The actual fact is that you are right about what is in the constitution, however the main handicap of our parliamentary-passed laws that it is subjected & prone to human interpretation, namely the judges that administer the law. The higher the heraichy (e.g. high court judge as compared to district judge), the more their interpretation will affect the final outcome and even future outcomes.

In layman terms it simply means the written laws are only as it is said - "written". Final outcome is still very blurry, quite unlike other western countries where the written laws are rigidly adhered to, and not changed as and when according to the interpretation/whims of the administrator.

For any laws, rules or regulations to be administered, e.g. the rights of the female tourists, the victim (or plaintiff in this case) must make a formal magistrate complaint AND pursue the case. As it is all the poor vietnamese do not know and will never in their right mind ever think about pursuing their own rights (including spending $$ and engaging a lawyer for this purpose).

(JUST TO QUALIFY THE ABOVE POST, I AM TALKING ABOUT SILLYPORE, A FICTITIOUS COUNTRY NOT IN RELATION TO ANY COUNTRY THAT EXISTED TODAY, so please do not waste your time & efforts to engage me in any legal tussles or prosecution as I'm talking cock about a fictitious country)
