因果 is 3 lifes. previous, current and the next life
one do good deed, merits are credited but does not mean u enjoy the merits this life. same goes to demerits.

For example :
Boston marathon bombing kills dozens of ppl. The court justice the most take the 2 culprits' lifes. but does taking the 2 culprits' lifes justify the dozens that were killed? (assume the dozen dead were innocent). The next "espisode" will be the next life of the culprit's. When real bad cruel things befall on the 2 culprits' in their next life, people at that time does not know the culprits' were associated to previous killings of innocent people, will feel sorry for them and feel why so unfair to the duo.
