Fuzhou don't really have much. Xiamen more interesting and cheaper than SHA.
Shenzhen is the cheapest of all places I went. However, hotel may cost a little as too many HK there.

I suggest you can try the Roasted Goose instead of the peiking duck. I find it very nice at this restaurant, Tang Gong (Tang Palace) at the Dong1 Zhu1 An1 Bang1 Road next to Jiangsu Road. They are popular for the Cantonese food, so roasted pigeon is defintely another delicacy there.

It's my "must go" restaurant whenever I am in SH.

Please be fore warned that many of the restaurants (beside it) which employed many workers to offer discount are just "suck"...don't fall for them........

Me too not a real fan of Shanghainese food as I find them too sweet and oily for my liking....but as "foreigner to SH " like me eating them once a while is fine. Morever, whenever I am have guests to SH must let them try SH food right. Qian Long happen to be my favourite SH restaurant.

Another SH restaurant I like is "Dynasty" located along Zhoa Jia Bang lu very near to Somerset SVC Apt - Xu Hui. The price here is slightly more expensive but with nicer decor......

Yeah...I did try their Bejing Duck. Not too bad but would prefer that they slice the duck skin in front of you like what Quan Jue De did. Thanks for your recommendation Bro. Lee Ming (HK 4 Heavenly King) has been there before. Proven by a photo hanging inside the restaurant

Since we r all right now talking on cuisine here in Shanghai for all bros here to share, let me share my lit' bit part with all here....

1) "Chu Cai Guan" located on ChangDe Road, at the junction of XinZha Road.
Very economical prices and ambience. Average of 4-5 pax with a table of 3 cold dishes, 4 hot dishes with beverages all in would simply cost about RMB 180-220 depending on the kind of dishes one order. They r famous for "Lu Wei" or simply translated as soya seasoned meat dishes like duck, chicken, pig internals, etc. Just one dish all bros will to take note is should u order the roast goose dish, it would easily cost u RMB 60-100 for that one dish depending on the portion u r asking for.

2) "Xiao Nan Guo" located at Nanjing Xi Road (right beside Portman Ritz Carlton Hotel) or another branch located at Hong Mei Road, near junction of YanAn Xi Road.
They serve typical Shanghainese cuisine. Ambience is better in decor so their prices as compared to the above latter mentioned will be higher. Service is good and attentive.
Typical Shanghainese dishes like "Sweet & Vinegar flavour pork-ribs", "Crab Meat ToFu", "Guo Tie"(Dry-Fried Dumplings), "Xiao Long Bao", etc. r serve there but at a slightly higher price than any other restaurants. Advance booking or reservations must be made as the crowd everyday is ridiculous! But there again, it explains that they r good isn't it in both service & food?

Hope the above info will of useful to bros here who wants to try local cuisine or intending to bring clients out for business meals.

Saw some earlier post on Mei Rong Mei Fa shops, so followed the instructions and directions from the posts, went to Da Pu Lu and Qu Xi Lu to have a look.
Yes there are a few of them but when I walked past them, they seem so run down, dark and dirty so I left without anything accomplished.
Btw, there's quite a nice condo near by.

Dissappointed, I followed the directions of another post and go to Jian Guo Lu and Xi Nan Lu. There are a few Qi Pai Zhi like the brother said, but can't find one that is on the 2nd floor. I did past by some hair saloon but again they are dark and run down though you can see gals dressing up sexily but the environment just puts me off, so I left.

Sian liao, so went to New Huai Hai HC which I think will have a higher chance of success.

Reach there, place is rather old but service is quite good.
Took my bath, went to the TV area and have some tea and cig. Asked for gal 112 as recommended by one brother here, waited for about 20min and my turn came.

How could you beat that in any other place?? As for shopping, since this is wintertime, there was a lot of beautiful and cheap winter clothes for sale and the place was packed with many Chio Bus in their winter finery. I find that PRC gals, dressed up in winter/seasonal clothes, would win hands down in the looks department, as compared to SG gals who only don the std black top and jeans routine all year round. Shopping for clothes and other items was fun and cheap, and the selections are not inferior to what you’d see in Orchard Road.

Well, all good things must come to an end, and it was a little dramatic for me... I parted ways with my Uni. gal when I discovered she was 2 timing me with her Italian BF in HGH.
