It seems my posting has stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest.
Firstly, I apologise for any misunderstanding here as I thought a "cewek" was a chicken/WL and not a girl/lady in general. If you read my posting in this context it doesn't make any sense at all.

The reason for the post is that I have read (in another sex forum) of foreigners picking up girls at these places and they have actually been successful. The girls are not the rich tai-tai type who go there for shopping for branded goods but those actually working there as shop assistants, baristas, cosmetics/sales girls etc.

I personally think it's quite difficult to achieve what bro Poonani has done but not impossible and was interested in his approach and giving it a go myself.

When I was last in Jakarta, there was a particularly cute girl working in The Food Hall basement of Grand Indonesia (restaurant section I believe). Wanted to start a conversation but the language barrier kind of prevented any progress...

Bro, since you are staying at Le Meridien, why not try Fortune Spa which is just around the corner. I have not been myself so cannot comment on price but it seems to get quite good reviews.

Yes I reckoned it is more expensive than Jakarta.

For a start you can get MacD and Kentucky 24/7. The problem is that there are few outlets. One of the favourite place to eat is the Riverside. But I personally think its shit food and expensive. Most Palembangers will invite you to taste the local favourite dish call pempek. It is fishball roll with flour and comes in many shapes, long, flate etc. Better to have it fried. It taste better fried.

As for restaurant, there a couple such as Serdahana - a padang food. A village style Malay Restaurant, forgot the name. The food is so so. But having said all these, the non pork chinese restaurant at Novotel dished out decent chinese dishes. I enjoyed the fired rice the most.

A "contractual disagreement" between the local authorities and the law enforcer have resulted in the girls not stripping during showtime. If the customer fancied them so much, they can invite the customer up to the room and in closed door session, do their needs. But it will cost the customer 20 LD or 1juta. The customer can do almost anything to the girl except making love. If it includes love making factor another 1.3juta. With taxes etc, a session with a sexy dancer will set you back by 2.5juta. The same price you pay for a local model.

Of course the dancers are complaining. Customers are unwilling to part with their money to pay for LD when they are not allowed to fondle the girls. Income for the girls are badly affected as most of the dancers do not engage in commercial sex.

Not sure when this problem will be over.
