Yes bro adidas, ur first trip was in may 08, and ur 2nd in June when 中元街 was flooded if I remember correctly. I was there in CP too at the time when it was raining dogs and cats.

Nowadays, if it rains non-stop for about 3 hours, CP will be flooded. The lowest point being Tian Er'Hu Road (天鹅湖路) area and Zhong Yuan Street/Chang Ping Avenue Junction (中元街/常平大道). When flood comes, the only happy people are the Mini-Van (面包车) Drivers who will charge astronomical prices for rides to various. Some one told me that when the flood occured that time, a Mini-Van once charged RMB100 for a ride for 4 guys from POZOLIM to MIRATON Hotel. WTF! It is only less than 50 meters away. The drainage system are better now in CP. Flood do not happen as regularly as a few years back. Let's hope this year will be a good year without flooding in CP. By the way, raining (Monsoon) is just around the corner.

OMG! Suddenly, why is this thread so alive with so many posts? It's been a long time since I have seen this thread so busy. Can't seem to catch up with all new names posting here.

May I add - HuiZhou is a City (Prefecture-level City) by China's Standard. In the City Centre, it is much cleaner. Roads are wider compared to CP. On the contrary, Taxi-Drivers are more honest than you might find in CP. Most if not all Taxi-Drivers will flag down their meters when you board and they will give you a receipt if you want one. Flag-down price is RMB6.00 if I remember correctly. There are WALMART and CARREFOUR to be found in HuiZhou City. If you are in ladies products like the products you find/purchase in YiWu, ZheJiang, there is a mall selling all sort of products similar to the real YiWu. If I am not mistaken, this mall is call mini YiWu.

There are 2 Mega SPA there too, but I can't remember their names. I do not think they offer Volcano services but these 2 SPAS are nice place to hang out if you can afford the time. If I am a traveller and have time to spare, I will definately visit HuiZhou City. IMHO - CP is so prosperous because DG/CP has the CRH, otherwise, it will be another ghost town like QingXi or XieGang.

Yes, bro NE is very updated with CP, the drainage system much better these days. think it was the tricycle 三輪車 which made the killings during flood.

Hmm, so if time is limited, is it better to go DS or to HZ. How far apart are they? Its not just KTV I interested in. Dirty foot massage, BBS and Sauna too.
