There is one budget hotel in Johor bahru safe and sound. The name of the hotel called Cosy Inn located in Jalan Maju jaya near Planggi Plaza...Downstair is Chef Papa Restaurant.. The number 014-6178528 for reservation... The rates around RM 45 above.. just renovated for two months...

Bro,

Beware, one of my staff (malaysian) recently spoke about Malaysian budget hotel in Johor are normally operated by underground folks. His cousin who is a contractor, claims that the mirror and wall are rigged with microphone and camera. Their intention - Blackmaill. They have your passport number and address during check-in. One recent case, a singaporean paid Sin$30,000 to get the film back from the gang. He initiated refused to pay until they printed copies of his actions and put it at car windscreen in Sgp.

My advice is to avoid Johor budget hotel - too high risk, you are dealing with syndicate that are high-tech. Just pay the Sin$ and patronise 81 or frangance which are much more safe and secure.........

try crystal crown.. abit futher down the road from where pelangi plaza is..

180RM for a nite.. cheaper than hotel 81 overnite.

Johor Bahru budget hotels are for travellers to have a tight budget like RM 45
above.. Any travellers stay for two hours paid only RM 30.00 if you bring your
girlfriend. Cosy Inn was just 5 minutes away from causeway..cheaper than those budget in city square... I have try it...

I have try this hotel this afternoon..very clean with carpet and bathroom attached. Rm 30.00 for two hours. Got to make reservation first...the hotel consist of 30 rooms always full....

I just find it amazingly funny how Singaporeans can be so "dumbo". Propagandas spread by government works amazingly well among Singaporean minds. You think Malaysia is really some third rate country? You think you make so much that people are happy to target and blackmail you? If you make that much, surely you wouldn't even think about budget hotel. Go 5 stars.

Budget hotels are businesses whether operated by pure businessmen or underground people. Underground people in fact provides better security than those that are not.

Please use your big head to think about things rather than imagining things.

The other thing is how people complained about the police taking bribes. No doubt that is true. But from what I do know is that they only target those who did commit some sort of offence, nevermind what offences. You see, there are enough "dumbos" to commit offences that they do not need to resort catching those innocent buggers. Just take a look at North South Highway, and you can see the normal dumbos speeding away even in the monsoon rain.
