Cyclist gives driver the finger after hogging lane near Raffles Place

A cyclist was seen on video taking up a lane near Phillip Street in the Raffles Place area causing a motorist to slow down, which resulted in the cyclist flashing his middle finger to the driver behind him. Two Stomp contributors had provided details about the incident as well as the video link.

According to a Lianhe Wanbao report, the cyclist directed his anger at the driver, a 34-year-old human resource executive known as Miss Pan, after she horned twice at him.

Miss Pan was quoted in the report as saying that she was driving alone to work on the leftmost lane of the road when she saw the cyclist in the middle of the lane. She sounded her car's horn at the cyclist, who was identified as a foreigner in the report, to alert him to her vehicle.

She horned again, this time using hand gestures to ask the cyclist to move to the side of the lane so that she can speed up. At this point, the cyclist can be seen on video looking behind to his right, then looking to his left when he flashed is middle finger at Miss Pan.

Miss Pan also claimed that he seemed to be cursing at her as well. Stomp contributor Alex chided the cyclist for being rude, while another contibutor Phua wrote: "An inconsiderate cyclist hogging the road. "He was thinking he has the right of way to hog the road and verbally abuse other motorists.

"Car recorders are the GREATEST invention on earth to capture such ungracious acts."
