Daylight Savings Time problem
Boss, Moderators
Noticed that old posts are now dated 1 hr later than what it was a day ago. Had something gone wrong at the server end because of DST ?

No there is nothing wrong with the server. It's because 1 am occurs at different times in different time zones. http://sbf.directory/showthr...gs#post6976597

Different time zones... that I understand. However, am confused on how vBulletin displays the time after DST. Allow me to elaborate... All posts got advanced by 1hr, including times in User CP. The 24hr timeclock between reputation point actions becomes confusing. eg if u had last upz someone at 5:00pm yesterday, it now shows the previous upz time as 6pm. However, u don't have to wait till 6pm today to upz someone again (if u go by 6pm + 24hrs), u can still upz at 5pm.

Re: Daylight Savings Time problem
The one hr forward DST kicked in as reported at 2:29am reported below:
http://sbf.directory/showpos...ostcount=26193 It is now 9 hrs later at 11:30am Sing time and the forum is still showing 12:30pm. Auto scripts haven't kick in yet and is it possible to reduce the delay?

There is a problem somewhere... perhaps with a server kicking in the dst correction early? I am providing feedback so that whatever that caused it (maybe the scripts) can be fixed.

Re: Daylight Savings Time problem
There is nothing wrong with the scripts. It will sort itself out as the various DST scripts sync.

Someone posted at 2:29am Sunday singapore time (see my first post today) but the forum already displayed it as 3:29am. If this is not DST already kicking in (bringing it forward 1hr), then what is it? If it is indeed DST kicking in, it is way too early for DST to be kicking in even for PST time where the servers are located. The scripts logic may not have a problem but the time it is invoked may be early. Or maybe it is a lazy hazy Sunday and my mind wasn't working well

Maybe you can help advise what's the correct setting and since most users are based in GMT+8, make that setting as the default. I hope I am not being seen as intruding. Just like to provide the feedback and data points to surface the root cause.

Re: Daylight Savings Time problem
As I stated earlier, all 24 time zones should have crossed the 9th Mar 2 am point in time by now and the everything should be back to normal.

I am still puzzled why DST kicks in early as in my first post. Forumer first noticed that it kicked in on Sun 2:39am Sing time. His post was done at that time but forum displays it as one hour ahead at 3:39am. So is kickin time dependent on: - First time zone DST +1hr forward kicks in, eg New Zealand is GMT+13. - Kickin time is independent of where the PST servers is located, because if it is dependent, it is inconsistent with the forumer observation. ps had tried to google for vbulletin DST bug but did not really find something useful.
