Thumbs up Drivel From Warren Fernandez, Editor Shit Times

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

Source: Boycott Straits Times & Zaobao

In a grand piece of drivel today, Warren Fernandez wrote that:
1. Singaporeans have "Everest high" expectations of the government expecting everything to run smoothly all the time.

2. Those who assert the contrary are often shouted down ("especially online") for pushing "political propaganda".

Where has Warren Fernandez been all this while?

Wonderland?

Weren't Singaporeans told that their Government is world-class and that the ministers and top civil servants are the cream of society deserving of their astronomical salaries?

And no, expecting trains not to break down as frequently as it is happening now is not harbouring "Everest-high expectations". It's expecting a decent standard of service considering the millions made by the PTOs and the Transport Minister.

Expecting our elderlies not having to climb on to the train track and walk back to the station is a fundament principle of human decency.

If we want to start comparing ourselves with the Third World, then let's also benchmark Ministers' salaries to Third World's standards, how about that?

As for the nonsense about being shouted down, isn't that the essence of conversation in a democracy?

Oh wait, we are not really a democracy: Warren Fernandez owes his position to the Newspaper & Printing Presses Act. He's probably not used to being contradicted, what with the gang of servile, obedient and unquestioning stable of reporters who do his bidding to lick the PAP's boots.
