Thumbs up KL hit by another crisis : 6 killed at concert, 2 sinkies endangered

By Melissa Lin

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is rendering consular assistance to the families of Singaporeans who reportedly collapsed at a Kuala Lumpur music festival on Friday night.

MFA said in a statement on Sunday: "MFA is aware of the case and is in touch with the next-of-kin to render consular assistance."

Malaysian media reports said that six Malaysians, who attended the Future Music Festival Asia concert, died from drug overdoses. Another nine concert-goers are said to be in critical condition and of these, Malaysian authorities told The Sunday Times on Saturday, that six are Singaporeans. They were taken to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

Two of the Singaporeans were reported to be in a critical condition. Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh said that they were believed to have overdosed on methamphetamine, which is also known "ice".
