It seems wearing of seat belts for back seat passengers is NOT MANDATORY in Singapore. The fatal accident at Tampines showed the importance of always wearing seat belts for back seat passengers. The 2 teens were flung out the back windows when the car overturned. They would still be alive if they had worn seat belts!
She climbed out of the car and saw the bodies of the girls "lying on top of each other" after having "smashed through the back windows" of the car.
Their faces were "smashed very badly", added Miss Wix.
In NZ, wearing of seat belts is mandatory even for back seat passengers.
