Defiant Juliet shoots down love-struck Chinese Romeo's efforts to woo her with a drone PUBLISHED : Friday, 19 December, 2014, 5:18pm UPDATED : Friday, 19 December, 2014, 5:38pm Nectar Gan [email protected] The would-be Chinese 'Romeo' flies a drone carrying a luxury bag up to the window of his 'Juliet', as his friends hold up a sign declaring his love. Photo: cri.cn A love-struck young “Romeo” from China tried, but failed to woo his “Juliet” – a female university student – by flying a luxury brand bag up to her dormitory window attached to a camera drone. The failed attempt was made by the would-be suitor in Langfang, Hebei province, on Tuesday, the cri.cn news website reported. The Chinese suitor prepares his drone for take off. Photo: cri.cn The unnamed, bespectacled Romeo, who witnesses said drove a luxury car, arrived outside the girl’s dormitory on campus with a few friends. After tying the bag to the camera drone, he flew it up to the female student’s second-floor window. Photos posted online show the budding Romeo's friends held up a pink sign with the words, “Love You”, as the suitor controlled drone. However, the clearly unimpressed female rejected his efforts. His love went unrequited. Romeo's drone and his attempted luxury gift are repelled by Juliet's flatmates - with a mop and two brooms. Photo: cri.cn Her roommates used a mop and two brooms to push away the drone, which almost fell to the ground, and Romeo was left with no choice but to leave disappointed, cri.cn reported. Creative, eye-catching attempts by men to court and even propose marriage to female university students often make the headlines in mainland China. In June 2012, a man brought 11 luxury BMW cars to a university in Hunan province to propose to his girlfriend, who was studying there for her master’s degree; this time the proposal was accepted.
