Family lived in tent in cemetery after becoming homeless

MAN ADMITS TO RAPING 12YR OLD GIRL WHO LIVED IN CEMETERY WITH FAMILY Post date: 28 Apr 2015 - 10:35am  [Pic: A Cemetery] A cemetery worker was charged in court with raping a 12 year old girl on multiple occasions throughout 2012. The girl had consented to the sex but as she is under 15, the law states that children so young are unable to give consent. Roslan Jaafar, 41, pleaded guilty to 2 counts of rape and 1 of sexual assault on a minor. The young girl had lived in a tent in the cemetery with her younger sister and mother after the family became homeless. She made friends with an 8 year old boy at the cemetery, the son of Rosland and after that, Rosland became friends with the girl's family. Rosland would then ask to take the girl out for errands such as for buying dinner and cigarettes but after a while, he began having sex with her on these errands. He would bring her on his motorbike to a secluded spot nearby and have sex with the girl. He told her not to tell her mother and he claimed that the young girl had told him that she was not a virgin. The sexual activities were discovered after the girl's uncle became suspicious when she went out on an errand for over 2 hours with Rosland while he was visiting the family's tent. When confronted, the girl admitted to having sex with the 41 year old. The family then lodged a police report and Rosland was later arrested. He will be sentenced at a later date. The man is now being dealt with by the law for his acts. Separately however, it is concerning that a whole family had been forced to live in a cemetery due to homelessness. They were living there for several months while these sexual acts happened. It is understood that they are no longer living in the cemetery but it is concerning that they had to for several months in 2012. Why were they unable to secure a rental HDB?
