Stomper Daniel was shocked to be charged $9.80 for two bowls of rice at a restaurant in the Little India area on Aug 21.
He said that it was just normal plain rice and does not understand why it was so expensive.
Said the Stomper:
"A few days ago, my girlfriend and I were having dinner at this restaurant around Little India where we ordered a couple of side dishes and two bowls of plain rice.
"We paid and left but to our horror, after we checked the receipt, realised we were charged $9.80 for two bowls of plain rice!
"We would not have minded paying the same price for flavoured rice with some spices but for plain rice...
"Well, I'm not sure if f this is an 'acceptable' or normal price for an Indian restaurant, but yeah, I was shocked."
The Stomper added that he did not manage to ask the restaurant's staff about the price as they all appeared to be busy.
