RMAF to fly back bodies of M’sians killed in bus crash The bodies of the 13 Malaysians killed in a bus accident in Thailand are expected to be flown to Johor tomorrow evening in a Hercules C-130 aircraft of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Johor Tourism, Trade and Consumerism Committee chairperson Tee Siew Kiong said today the aircraft, flying from Chiang Mai to Senai, was also expected to ferry back the injured as well as the next-of-kin who had gone there after the accident. “I just received an update from Wisma Putra after the conclusion of the coordinating meeting on the accident. “All the bodies will only be sent back to Malaysia tomorrow evening as the DNA tests have yet to be completed,” he told reporters after calling on the families of three of the accident victims in Batu Pahat. Tee said he was made to understand that the Thailand government also offered a Royal Thai Air Force aircraft to fly back the bodies. He said the bodies would be transported from the Senai International Airport to the respective villages in Batu Pahat in ambulances provided by the Health Ministry. He also said that the Johor government once again recorded its condolences to the families of the dead and pledged to do its best in helping out with the funeral arrangements and assisting the injured. Thirteen of 22 Malaysians were killed after the bus they were travelling in from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai crashed at 11.30am (12.30pm in Malaysia) following an accident with a pickup truck. In KUALA LUMPUR, Chief of Defence Forces Gen Zulkifeli Mohd Zin said the C-130 aircraft was expected to leave for Thailand from the RMAF base in Subang at 5pm today. “The flying time is three hours,” he told reporters after closing a course and handing over diplomas of the Armed Forces Defence College.
